Another thing, why does Nickelodeon feel the need to air Sponge Bob as many times as possible on a daily basis? I know that the show is popular and so that would justify them showing Sponge Bob two or three times a day but nine or ten airings daily?
Sponge Bob is a terrible show and I'll never understand why everyone in my generation worships it.

If the entertainment industry wasn't always like that, we wouldn't have crap like this:

My best guess is that Nick is trying to recapture some of the 90's sitcom market, and chasing after Disney's success whose genesis goes back to Lizzie Mcguire and That's So Raven. That was what started Cartoon Network's slide away from cartoons and their foray into live action. Their model of using Youtube as a cheaper alternative for finding talent seems to be successful, given that they've done it with Fred, the Finebros, and the animators of Breadwinners.
With all do respect, I don't see how Nick is trying to recapture that market. The show's on Nick from the 90s appealed to not just kids, tweens, and teens but to the whole family as well. Shows like Kenan & Kel, Alex Mack, Cousin Skeeter, All That, Wild Thornberrys, and Animorphs were funny and fresh.
In contrast to the shows on today's Nick that seem only to appeal ages 5-10 with the current lineup. And of course the daily spamming of Spongebob which has gone way too rampant lately. It's no wonder the network currently has ratings troubles.

Do you? Cause the shows of now ain't too good. And I ain't just saying that with rose tinted glasses. I genuinely think that Nick has had problems for the last few years. And it doesn't seem like they're gonna change in the future. Nick has been in a slump for a while.

and
The only show I can bring myself to care about is Harvey Beaks, ATM - and not only is it getting treated like shit, but it ain't all that spectacular itself, either. Too bad this regime could use MORE and MORE shows just like it...
... If only Spongebob and FOP had been cancelled by now, we'd be seeing some REAL improvements across the board, IMHO.

People have been saying that for years.
I'm pretty certain you won't find anyone on this forum who says that Nickelodeon went down when the Nicktoons came in, but it used to be a pretty common opinion.
People would pretty much say: "Well, the first three or four Nicktoons were good, but everything after that sucked!"

I've seen some kids interested in that Ninjago cartoon but that may have to do more with them loving legos.
