Only 3 wicks and 9 inbounds. And personally, I'm not sure if this is tropeworthy.

Good old dialogue titled page. While there might be a trope here (Artistic License Flying Environment) this page isn't it. I favour a cut.

Hollywood Atmosphere might be a better title, but shipping it back to YKTTW is probably the better option.

As far as wicks go, it is worth noting that there are more examples than wicks, and one of the wicks is for Pages Needing Wicks. Lack of crosswicking is separate problem from underuse.

Still, even given that issue, I think a new name and better description would help, as well as some time in YKTTW to collect examples. I also think that there are just enough inbounds that I would not support cutting the current page. Instead it could be turned into a redirect.

Just noticed it's very easy to put "Attitude" as the last word by mistake. Also not sure if gravity, flight, and the lack of O2 are part of this trope.

[up] I believe so, yes. The description and the examples mention people flying without O2 at unrealistic heights.

Never Tell Me the Odds!. Lines of dialogue aren't usually snowclones, but they are bad under different metrics.

Also, 9 inbounds is below the treshold of inbounds that justify making a redirect. And there is the "line-of-dialogue" issue still. So I stand by my vote to cut this.

It's tropeable, but doing horribly poorly.

Also, the examples are bad. Of the examples...

  • Kung Fu Hustle, in which a Kung Fu genius is propelled up above the clouds, steps on a bird to get control of his movement and jumps straight back down. Bad example, he's explicitly only as high up as a bird
  • In, World Of Warcraft flying up high isn't a problem, even for a Warrior Human. How high is "high"? And keep in mind, these are characters that can eat fireballs for breakfast so coldness isn't really an issue
  • Subverted in Iron Man just before we think we'll be treated to a dogfight between Powered Armor.
—> "So how did you solve the icing problem?"
  • Spider-Man travels cross-country by webbing himself onto airplanes. Only in Spider Man And His Amazing Friends is the chill ever mentioned, because Spidey's freezing, and Iceman finds the temperature just fine.
    • There was also an Ultimate Spider Man story where he got taken to South America by one of his villains and had to hide in a plane's luggage compartment to get back home. Even INSIDE the plane, it was so freezing cold Spidey had to break into a bunch of suitcases for extra clothing.
  • The Flintstones travel across country by way of riding in a big bird. But Fred and Barney have been out on the wings and gotten chilled. Again, it's only as high as a bird.
  • Subverted in one episode of The Simpsons where Homer gets light-headed to the point he has hallucinations of being able to skip up the mountain (amongst other oddities) - it then reveals that he's actually sliding back down the mountain; covered in bruises and cuts.

So of the examples, only Spider Man is legitimate. There are two bad examples, and two subversions.

Re-clocking; this is going away if something doesn't happen.

Well, I'd say it's tropeable.

However, it's got issues. The name, while punny, is unclear and at first glance just seems like "don't give me that attitude." The examples are almost all bad.

I say cut and send to YKTTW under Artistic License High Altitudes or something. If no one volunteers, I'll take it over.

You forgot to lock it, Willbyr. I see this as needing a cut. Might be better to put up a crowner rather than let it die.

Whoops! So, if it's cut, would it be shipped back to YKTTW or just left to die?

I wouldn't cry if we just left it to die, but I do think there's a trope in there if someone wants to take it to YKTTW. If people agree and no one else wants to, I will take it, but I'm not exactly married to sponsoring it.

How about just a downplayed (I loathe that meta-trope but it's at least applicable here) variant of Batman Can Breathe in Space?

I vote for the "cut and let it die", myself. While it's written to be a less extreme version of Batman Can Breathe in Space, most f the examples are more about the cold than the lack of oxygen. I also think that the dividing line between "really high" and "in space" is too fuzzy for general use (yes, I know that there's a scientific definition of how high you have to be to be "in space" but expecting that kind of scientific rigor from most editors is futile.) And I really don't want to put the kind of blatant official sanction on the "Trope X But Less" that making it a page and specifying that it's a Downplayed version will be.

No one is really devoted to shepherding it through YKTTW, either.
