Well, I'm not feeling this particular Gecko Ending...not a fan.
Also manga scanlations are up to chapter 32, but chapter 25 was skipped, which is a problem because the characters keep referring to it.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Chapter 25 finally came out...wow, that was a heck of a fun chapter! Yato is an evil mangodchild in this, but it all worked out in the end. Those forum posts were great. This should definitely be an OVA. The biggest CMOF in the series thus far.
And chapter 33...outrageously cool and creepy.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Chapter 25 is the OAD actually. Assuming chapter 25 is the one where Yato hijacks Hiyori's body for a high school debut. Yes, been animated and extended a bit actually.
"And you must be Jonathan Joestar!" - SueSo, with the most recent chapters of the manga — I guess we're going to see a Shinki (and Hiyori) Rescue Mission To Hell and Back.

Keep Rolling On
I think it was chapter 44, but I just read it. Whoa... we learned that as a mortal, Mayu was the mother of a now-old woman, but apparently shiki mustn't know their human past? Damn Hiro and Father are up to no good, as always.
Some nitpicks though, Yato and Yukine shouldn't have been invisible to the daughter, and "Mayu prime" could have just as easily jumped into the water with her daughter instead of just flinging her in and burning to death.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.I just started watching this (on Hulu.) I'm up to Yukine's ablution. Is it me, or does the series take place on a Crapsack World? The gods are assholes, humans can be driven to suicide by beings they can't even see, and the Regalias are held to almost-impossible standards of purity (or face death for them and/or their masters). Sheesh.
And yet, the show is still compelling, mainly because the main characters are so likable/relatable. Plus things still get really funny occasionally. Great animation and music, too. So, I'll keep watching for now. (Btw I don't mind spoilers at all, feel free to fill me in.)
I've yet to see a truly sympathetic god in the series (not even Yato.) As he said, the deities feel free to do whatever they want, even kill. The only thing that balances this out is that (someone correct me if I got this wrong) they eventually will cease to exist if forgotten, so they MUST grant people's wishes. Not that people know this.
Overall, the whole real world/afterlife relationship in this universe feels very messed up to me (but that's likely intentional.)
I think the gods are sympathetic. Most of the gods in this series are good people who occasionally do or have done bad things, usually for Acceptable Reasons. If they're not "truly" sympathetic, they're not "truly" assholes either. Heck, Yato decides later in the manga to stop caring so much about becoming famous and to become a god of fortune not to mention how far he goes for Yukine, and any killing is because he was a battle god by nature and because he was raised by an evil, unsympathetic bastard. And he definitely came out better than his adoptive sister. Bishamon has a good reason for hating Yato, she doesn't seem so violent around anyone unrelated to him, and she ends up forgiving him. She also has the "hero to her shinki" thing. Tenjin hasn't even done anything evil that I remember, he just acts full of himself. Kofuku...Well, Kofuku should definitely know better than to do some of the things she does, but it's not like she likes causing misfortune, she just doesn't let being a binbougami get in the way of having fun. And Ebisu does sketchy things but is just really determined to do what he believes in and he was framed and killed anyway. And he also, also is beloved by his shinki.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.
I haven't seen a lot of that yet (and apparently won't, since the series ends on ep 12.) If I find the manga I'll read it, I'd really like to see Yato's character growth. In any case, my point about *the setting* of the series being a pretty cynical one stands, I think.

So I just finished episode 4 of the anime. So let me get this straight. Bishamon is mad at Yato because he killed her Regalia's after they had turned into monsters and on the verge of killing her? Really. I enjoy this series, but all of the characters are idiots.

I'm disappointed, Tropers. Very disappointed
It's been established that corruption seriously fucks with your head, as does the death of your Regalia. Bishamon was out of her mind with pain, and likely didn't register that her Regalia had all turned into Phantoms. Kazuma wasn't too inclined to tell her, either, given that realising she was responsible for a disaster of that magnitude would likely break her all over again.
Also, Veena does not look to me like someone who would actually approve of purging her "family" anyway.
OH GOD WHY AM I A CAR!? - ForzareYeah, I must say this series is funny, but whenever the drama comes, the characters are just idiots. The whole mess with Yukine's corruption could have been avoided if Yato had properly explained what happens to Shinki when they think and do bad things.
Now, with Bishamon, she's the one with most the blame. She takes in too many Shinki, thinking that giving them shelter and joining her "happy family" will be enough. I mean they are wandering human souls, not street animals, just giving them a home and food won't keep them satisfied. And then, she refuses to think any of them would betray her, when she has barely gotten to know any of them.

They already spelled that out, though. Yato doesn't care, and Kazuma didn't want to jeopardise her recovery by letting her know it was her fault (also, there was the whole thing about him selling her Regalia out, which he certainly didn't want to come closer to the surface).
Episode 5 explains more. Bishamon was overwhelmed by grief turned to hatred, which also explains her hoarding of regalia, Yato of course didn't care about anybody until recently and Kazuma had his own reasons to stay silent once he missed his chance to confess. It's the sort of situation that sustains itself after a while and ripe for manipulation.

Aww, this was a cute sad episode. Especially Yukine was cute. The anime is doing alright with its own material, but I hope we get a second season that covers Bishamonten's character arc.
