That strikes me as ignoring stylisation and the animal motifs for the sake of realism. While that's at odds with anime, I ordinarily wouldn't mind it except in this case the script is likely to actually contradict you in a thematically sound way.
Which is to say, they're never going to call it a monkey tail.
Saw the first episode. That Hiroshi Kamiya as Yato is god-tier. Damn.
Also, interestingly enough, Yato is written as 夜ト, with 'ya'(more often read as 'yoru' if I'm right)the kanji for 'night', but the 'to' is in katakana. Just something that stood out for me.
"And you must be Jonathan Joestar!" - SueDon't cats and monkey's have pretty similar tails? Long, kinda used for balance, that sorta thing? Don't see a big difference really.
She may be the first girl in anime history to get a cat tail without the ears however.
I think lions have tufts at the end of the tail, so probably not.

Second episode: better than the first.
Iki's ability to sleep anytime, anywhere would be cool except she can never drive a car...or operate heavy machinery...she can miss her stop easily on the train...she can burn her dinner easily (but I guess a timer may wake her up hopefully)...she had better not even try her luck with ladders...get hit by a truck...again...
So now Iki is susceptible to a Fate Worse than Death. How nice of you to save her, Yato! What a terrific idea!
Yato's Imagine Spot s are funny and have interesting animation and scenery, but I hope they don't over do them.
I like how Iki just leaves her prone body lying around anywhere.
Important God duty: cleaning mold off some guy's bathroom wall. Do try this at home, kids!
I personally think cyclops crab would have made a great shinki.
Seriously though, Yato, you couldn't have briefed her on this when she changed? Would that have just been too much exposition for one episode, Yato?
He's even unoriginal with his naming. Get it together, Yato! Oh well Yuki is a brat anyway.
This series really does have promise.

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.So after the first episode left me with mixed feelings, this one was a clear thumbs up.
I really like that Iki is confident and actually tries to help out and doesn't angsts around when she messes up. Yuki being a brat is also welcomed (I am sick of borderline shotas that act like pre-schoolers)

That opening is ranking pretty close to OP of the season for me...
And Hiyori is adorable.
"And you must be Jonathan Joestar!" - SueEpisode 3: Good, but confusing...Like was Hiyori or was she not in her physical body? Did she seriously just leave it collapsed in front of the family restaurant? If so, why would the train running her over even hurt her? Why does Yukine still feel cold and hunger? And yet he doesn't ever have to defecate, I guess, that's the only human thing he doesn't need.
Anyway, we meet a legitimate, Jerkass god and also see someone from a previous episode again...
"If people want to die, let them": I would see your point if they weren't being influenced by ayakashi to do so in the first place, much like the witches from Madoka Magica.
Creepy ayakashi, callbacks to previous episodes, new characters, awesome fight scenes, some gore, a jersey with a cartoon capybara on it, a cat, even some flowers...that's some good anime.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.
If she has a tail, she's not in her physical body. They spell out why the train is a problem, too - if her tail gets severely damaged, she's Killed Off for Real. Having a train run over her would probably do that.
after episode 3, I think Noragami is what Kyoukai no Kanata wanted to be, and failed (pretty miserably) to achieve.
Not really sure if having a similar setting is enough to say that, but I can see your point...
...not really. To be honest I don't even know what Kanata is trying to achieve. Or do.
That aside, new episode, was afraid Yuki's gonna be more of an annoying brat, but overall he's a fine lad. Liking how Yato picks up whenever erotic thoughts come in his mind, that is annoying to deal with, but is funny to see.
Glad Ex-wife character is back actually, hope she's more of a recurring character. While the OP seems to sell a different ship, I would not mind Yato and Kotone/Miyu/whatever/Ex-wife to get in.
"And you must be Jonathan Joestar!" - Sue

Not to be confused with Norigami, the god of seaweed.
Noragami is a supernatural action series with some horror elements about a really incredibly lame god, Yato, who nevertheless regularly kicks ayakashis' butts and rescues adorable samurai kittens like a boss. A regular high school girl who can see him tries to save him from being hit from a bus and ends up getting killed. She gets better, but she has narcolepsy and a translucent pink monkey tail now.
I haven't read the manga and I don't know how this will turn out, but it deserves a trope page, at least.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.
