I think the only folks I've killed were in Seyda Neen and Caius because he aggroed on me.

Um, I didn't steal his stuff until he was beyond needing it. tongue I had a hit from the Brotherhood, and slept in his house. Cue an assassin coming after me in his house, and him somehow getting triggered. I probably hit him by mistake during the battle. Either way, he fought, he died, I own his house.

I've always had as much money as I needed at a particular point, so I never really bothered with any deliberate money making.

[up] If it was Skyrim, he'd just keep getting up since he's essential.

Oh, I'm not doing this for the cash. I'm doing it for the battles and to see how well I can do depopulating a town. I doubt I'll rampage through other towns. Just this one to build up my character.

[up] I didn't mean you. The thread just moved really quickly in the last 10 minutes.

I had fun killing all the guards in the Dren plantation. It was a good challenge as well, since some of them were pretty strong compared to my character.

Yeah, I heard you can do it if you're a high enough level and reputation.

It might be more difficult, but I'm not sure how it works. On a save I didn't use, I did encounter the final boss before I was supposed to, but I didn't follow him into the main room where the fight takes place.

The only two places I've even been in this save are Seyda Neen and Balmora.

There are two ways to do it. One is exclusively if you kill Vivec (good luck with that), and the other is if you break the main quest in a more general sense (or just want to do a crazy insane speedrun).

also, doesnt the backdoor quest involve you going into the ghost fence area with an artifact that permanently lowers your health? i heard something on eusp wiki about it possibly lowering your health to 0

[up]It backfires, once, the first time you use it. After that it's safe. The backfire can do up to 490 damage.

You can also get in good with a high rep and then talk to certain characters who will put you back on the Main Quest path; people who feature prominently in the House and Tribunal Temple quests, IIRC.

Irony: I actually did an extermination attempt on one of my Morrowind games where I killed everyone in the gameworld.

If you do it yourself, level archery before. Ebony Arrows of Slaying. Look into it.

I killed Vivec. It was pretty hard to do but once I got into the groove he was gonna go down.

Nowhere near as tough as the Emerald Weapon was in Final Fantasy VII, that's for sure.

I killed Vivec as well, just to see if I could and didn't have much trouble. But that was after I'd already done everything else (excluding the expansions), so I was pretty powerful by then.

The only place I'm depopulating is Seyda Neen. Then I'm going back to the rest of the quests. And I'll behave myself on the rest of the game.

I've been mostly behaving myself. Limiting it down to theft or the occasional killing out in the wilderness. I stumbled upon a couple Dunmer bandit types and wound up using a scroll to escape because they were too well armored to kill quickly.

The game glitched that woman on the second story of the Balmora mage guild. She never went back up to her desk after the fake soul gem quest. So I pocketed all her gems and the platter they were on. I stuck them in one of my safe houses and sold the rather expensive platter for pocket change.

Now, a double question related to this:

1. Do I need to worry about thieves getting into my safe houses?

2. Besides selling and recharging enchanted items, what else are soul gems good for?

Nettacki Since: Jan, 2010
#45: Jan 15th 2014 at 2:07:39 PM

1. Not really sure, to be honest. I don't remember thieves coming into any of my houses in my playthroughs.

2. Soul gems are used to enchant items, not just recharge already enchanted ones or sell them for profit.

[up][up]

1. Nope.

2. You also need a Soul Gem when you do your own enchanting.

I meant anything to do with enchanted items, but the question's answered. Can I enchant rings and things with summoning spells that summon the creature in the stone?

Nettacki Since: Jan, 2010
#48: Jan 15th 2014 at 2:16:03 PM

Kind of? You can enchant it so that it could summon any monster/item, not necessarily the creature inside the soul stone.

I think I have a Draemora in a stone. Expensive stone, so I'm assuming it's a great summon, yeah?

The more expensive a stone, the better the enchantment.
