At the very least, it looks amazing.
How do lizards fly? That looks beautiful, and the gameplay actually looks pretty fun.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. It's aesthetically the freshest thing we might have seen in a really long time. A lot of games harken back to the yesteryears, but the presentation and animation of this game is just so damn convincing.
Lucky me, this game will come out on my PC, and I have a pretty sweet rig. I'll still wait a few months, though

"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018Some new gameplay vids came out in PAX West. Animations are much faster, and we even see a new form of the zepplin boss! A lot of missing SFX were added in too.
I haven't played a side scrolling shooter since Contra Hard Corps. This looks like fun. Does it have a release date?
Nothing confirmed except "sometime this year."
Hmmm, well waiting a few more months won't hurt.
Release date finally set, September 29 it is!
A (stupidly attractive-looking) vinyl edition of the soundtrack has also been revealed by the good folks over at iam8bit.
WE LIVE ONCE MORE!
New gameplay video from Gamescom. I don't think there's anything particularly new shown in it though.

Love the authentic film grain.
Cuphead is out today!
Why was the following taken out of the YMMV page?:
- Designated Hero: Cuphead and Mugman are basically hitmen that are doing what they're doing because they gambled with Satan and failed.
Probably because they have no choice and thus can't really be counted as a Designated Hero?
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Kirby is an eldritch abomination that destroys everything in its path. The more simplistic a plot the more room there is for alternative character interpretation.
Thing is that they had a choice. Cuphead himself chose to give into greed, and gamble their souls away.
Overconfidence is not enough to make someone a Designated Hero.
Cool. It's Play Anywhere, which means if I buy for Win 10, I can play on Xbox One.
I bought this game and had it downloaded around 5 hours ago and have been playing since, only stopping around 6 minutes ago from this post. It's a total blast and one of the most creative, charming games of not only this generation, but in gaming period.
It's also Nintendo Hard but never to where it feels impossible, as it feels you're learning every time you fail. I think showing just how far you were from beating the boss/phase/level each time you lose helps keep your determination up, plus the boss rhymes and quips are really amusing.
While challenging the game I feel is a good kind of challenging and even the hardest parts felt fair once I understood them. While I won't say it's a terribly deep game it's a great throwback to the games that inspired it and gives you a great sense of accomplishment as well. It's chalk full of personality and style too, with some of the best animations I've seen in a game ever,
I got this game yesterday and am having a lot of fun. Though I think I kind of suck at this game, since I get my ass kicked by the bosses so many times. Inkwell Isle 2 in particular has been pretty nasty to me, especially Baroness von Bon Bon or whatever she's called.
Still really like the art style. Always a joy to see what a boss turns into, even if it results in pain.
Nah, the bosses are kind of designed in a way where you're bound to die against the majority of them a couple of times, not to mention the game has NO life recovery whatsoever which means you have little room for error. I honestly have to use the 4 hearts thing for isle 2 because I was simply dying too quickly to advance. And isle 2 is a massive Difficulty Spike, with baron von bon bon being one of the hardest bosses so far iMO. I died against her and that freakin genie more than anyone else.
I'd buy more weapons aside from the peashooter too. I found the purple glob one(forgot the name, it's thrown like a bomb) to be more effective against Matchstick and the spread shot useful against Bippo;s balloon form.
Well, I made it past Inkwell Isle 1, and I'm not finding dying over and over again fun, so I'll stop right right there. Maybe if this games adds online co-op, and I find someone to play with it me I pick it up again but until then I'm done.
The secret to not dying is to use and abuse the charms. Particularly Smoke Bomb and Auto Parry. The former allows you to dash and ignore particularly annoying patterns and the latter allows you to parry whenever you are in the air.
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.
Animation aside, Indie run and gun games are so rare I think it's worth a look if nothing else.
