Wouldn't these death traps cost more than guns and bullets? Or in DC are these really easy to make and that's the real reason supervillains use elaborate murder machines?

They don't want any kryptonians hearing a gun being fired at a friend of theirs.

Random question (that I probably asked before):

What are some of DC's big time magical artifacts powerful objects? Like I'm talking their versions of the Cosmic Cube or the Infinity Gauntlet. Shit like that.

I've been trying to get a bead on the stuff they have in their universe.

[up]Not sure. On average DC's cosmic or magical doohickeys aren't as potentially destructive or Earth-shattering as Marvel's. Guess that makes up for DC's characters being more powerful in general.

Yeah, there aren't obvious counterparts to stuff like that. Going off my slightly weird frame of reference (the treasure hunt from JLA/Avengers); the Spear of Destiny seems to have mind control powers and can hurt anything, Book of Eternity was a very powerful spellbook. The others were quite a step down (one was just a GL power battery). Some items owned by the Endless or Lords of Chaos and Order may be pretty powerful

I suppose the Helmet of Nabu might be up there.

Most of Diana's gear might be up there too.

And there's Trident as well.

It seems that some of the more powerful DC artifacts are regularly used by it's heroes, as opposed to Marvel's stuff where it's Too Awesome to Use or not meant to be known by mortals.

Lantern rings are broken, but two of them are Black Hand's specific ring, and the White Lantern ring. Black Hand can retain his identity instead of "rings wearing the dead" given he acts the same dead, and when Hal puts it on he's in control of himself. And in that same story arc we saw that he's not destroyed by a combo of Green and something else Lantern. So he has all the strengths of a Black Lantern and none of the weaknesses, though it may not be the ring alone

The White Lantern ring, as seen with Kyle, has all the powers of every single one of the lantern rings, each has only a few limitations outside of the user's own emotions, imagination and such, and none of their weaknesses to each other

The most powerful DC artifacts I'm aware of are the Thought Robot and the Miracle Machine from Final Crisis.

What about the Phantom Lantern ring? Where does that rank?

And, of course, the new Ultraviolet Lanterns.

Speaking of the Ultraviolet Corps, I'm wondering what the other non-visible light spectra are going to look like in terms of emotion and abilities

The biggest problem with Alien lanterns is the moment they get ANY form of focus

They get killed off 'Especially if they are Female or are shuffled off when the writers change

Kilowag is probably the most consistent recurring lantern with Arisia

I'm still convinced they are building up to Killing Sora... especially with the idea of Bringing Jade back and making her more a proper GL character

[up]

Idk at this point it feels almost like all the Dark forces were gimmicks for Snyder's JL run since very few of them outside of The Force Quest in Flash seems to have been picked up by the main books proper

There's Ultraviolet Lanterns now? I'll admit to having a soft spot for the Blue but they're taking the spectrum thing weirdly far

Well that was the whole Gist of Snyder's JL post Metal saga

the Dark universes powers unleash new powers

like the Still force in Flash

the Invisible Spectrum in Green Lantern

and like one for everybody else

Flash comics recently introduced a plethora of forces to go with the Speed force. Which coincidentally makes the whole thing feel like RPG stat boosts. The Speed Force representing Speed, the Sage force for Intelligence and the Strength* Force for well, Strength. All we need now if a Force representing the Defense stat and we'd be settongue
