A general discussion thread for all things DC Comics. Topics may be split off into their own threads if necessary. That said, since there's already a thread
for the D Cn U (aka Nu52), this one would probably stick to pre-Nu52 comics to avoid redundancy.
I've always wondered if there's a justification for Wonder Woman's outfit being designed after a modern-day one-piece swimsuit/leotard instead of something that would fit her Greco-Roman mythological background (e.g. Amazons were more often than not depicted as wearing trousers
◊note ). A few attempted redesigns had her adopt Lady Legionnaire Wear for a skirt, but they never stuck. And then of course, there's her pants-wearing design during J. Michael Straczynski's run (courtesy of artist Jim Lee).

There fact there is some stuff in YJ that has aged poorly makes DC YJ even worse.
Because instead of talking about that stuff like the Mighty Endowed joke, it instead just completely makes up shit to complain about.
Its like calling Captain America racist and instead of looking for a real racially insensitive moment, it just retroactively invents a moment where Steve shouts a racial slur at someone.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I didn't read Young Justice, but I know Empress and Monster Girl were friends, or at least allies of Cassie Sandsmark Wonder Girl.
I didn't realize, or maybe just forgot Empress was black/brown though. Seems like something I'd remember. I remember Georgia, Bobby, Trevor Barnes and at least one other member of Wounder Woman's civilian supporting cast were all black. Then again, I don't remember what Monster Girl looks like either. I could just look it up, but just going from memory they were two super heroes active around the time Supergirl was still an "Earth Born Angel" and Creator's Pest, when Power Girl was from Atlantis but no longer part of Sovereign Seven.
Buldogue's lawyerNew history of the dcu issue 2. the league unofficially formed with the new 52 lineup to repel a darkseid invasion but only became an actual team when martian man hunter and black canary replaced cyborg who had to be put in a coma after fighting darkseid.he was revived in time to join the new teen titans later.
From that issue I also learned about Nightmaster, a rock and roll star transported to a sword and sorcery land. High concepts like that are why I love comics.
EDIT: And reading the showcase issue where he debuted showed me another obscure character/series, Our Fighting Forces Featuring Lt. Hunter's Hellcats.

The Protomen enhanced my life.Hi everyone,
I'm scrutinizing some edits by a ban evader. They removed
Justice League Action (2016) from Franchise.DC Animated Universe, stating "Justice League Action is not part of the DCAU." Is this correct?
Aw man, Nightmaster's most recent incarnation died
in the same issue he first appeared in :(
New History of the DC Universe makes me confused. It's clear they want to incorporate bits and bobs of all the different continuities but a lot of those bits contradict the other bits. With Wonder Wonder for example, are they using Post Crisis as a base and adding Pre-Crisis/Rebirth aspects when convenient? It's hard to tell.
Keeping the League's Nu 52 origin also leaves me feeling mixed. I get they want to have their cake and eat it too but it doesn't make a lot of sense. In the Fourth World comics Darkseid coming to Earth was a big deal because of the non-aggression pact between Apokolips and New Genesis. Openly waging war on Earth risked New Genesis getting involved and it's the reason both parties operated in secret. Having him invade Earth before Kirby's Fourth World defeats the purpose and makes Darkseid's original debut less of a big deal.
I’d assume both Darkseid becoming the “ultimate big bad” for DC rather than the New Gods and the Fourth World Saga never getting its original ending both contributed to DC just kind of ignoring it. You can’t even read the actual ending on DC’s streaming app

Will be a 6 issue miniseries with the set-up being "that Absolute Oliver Queen is a billionaire, who gets fed up with how other billionaires are acting". Absolute Ollie will debut in October's Absolute Evil one-shot.
A K.O. tie-in miniseries by Joshua Williamson and Dan Mora.
It will center on Batman fighting versions of the Robin boys who've all become Batman.
More info on DC K.O. including the first showcase of the tournament bracket.
Now that there's definitely only 32 fighters, where did the 36 from the very first news about K.O. come from? Writers Cannot Do Math or surprise bonus characters (somehow)?
My stories on AO3.If how Tournament arcs go in manga is any indication, I expect something happening behind the scenes.
Wake me up at your own risk.We got a teaser trailer.
Plus a promo preview.
"Superman brings brass knuckles that contain suns"
I'll have to read it to judge properly but the premise doesn't sound too different from the regular version of Oliver Queen. I'm surprised they're going this route instead of making him a Working-Class Hero.
When he’s been both rich and poor in major parts of his regular history, making him either can’t really be a big change.
Since Absolute Batman is working class, maybe what Absolute Green Arrow’s lost is his ability to rip off whatever Batman’s doing.

Well Batman is already that, so I assume there's a twist here with GA they are holding in their cards.
My speculation is that GA is aware of and a member of the conspiracy, a contrast to how he's always the unknowing pawn in the grand schemes all around him and he doesn't know about the crazy shit his parents were involved in.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Green Arrow losing his fortune was one of the best things that could've happened to him narratively.
The Protomen enhanced my life.

Even Weisman himself falls into that sometimes.
I vividly remember being pissed as a kid that Gargoyles depicted Anansi as basically a demon masquerading as a god.
