A general discussion thread for all things DC Comics. Topics may be split off into their own threads if necessary. That said, since there's already a thread
for the D Cn U (aka Nu52), this one would probably stick to pre-Nu52 comics to avoid redundancy.
I've always wondered if there's a justification for Wonder Woman's outfit being designed after a modern-day one-piece swimsuit/leotard instead of something that would fit her Greco-Roman mythological background (e.g. Amazons were more often than not depicted as wearing trousers
◊note ). A few attempted redesigns had her adopt Lady Legionnaire Wear for a skirt, but they never stuck. And then of course, there's her pants-wearing design during J. Michael Straczynski's run (courtesy of artist Jim Lee).

Not necessarily. It could mean that First of the Fallen did not become a demon after falling, or at least did not immediately become a demon until after Lucifer did. For example, Lucifer could have been the one to kick him down, and then have turned first into a demon after getting kicked down himself by Michael?

Buldogue's lawyerIsn't the name Crimson Archer kind of redundant when "Red Arrow" exists?
Poor Roy is once again saddled with a story about drug addiction.
Silver Age, but close enough. He only appeared once
.
Maybe next they can bring back The Boomerang, who was a pretty clever Golden Age killer who always 'came back' to finish a job.

The Protomen enhanced my life.Preview for Justice League vs Godzilla vs Kong #2
First line on the first page is Enchantress saying Lafayette killed Amanda Waller so looks like she did indeed bleed out on the floor there.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."She lost at the end of Absolute Power (2024) last summer, when I suggest she just win until the end of the year, she had come so far.
So, Batman is mocked for having a bunch of Robins, but all of his "main" setting Robins are distinguishable by look and name. Nightwing-Red Hood-Red Robin-Robin, Spoiler if you count her, because with Batgirl you also have Flamebird-Batgirl-Black Bat/Orphan/Spoiler. There is Bat-Man of China and New York Batman, but for the most part, it's easy to tell the people apart. Even the Robin is still Robin-Bot.
By contrast, Power Girl is the only one on team Superman who is neither wearing red-blue-yellow nor baring an "S" on her chest. I get the "S" is justified as a family symbol, but verbally they're also not very distinguished. The same Super-Man of China thing, but also two Superboys and two Steels.
Wonder Woman's sidekick and counterpart roster is all visually distinct, which is kind of weird in the context of this topic, given the militaristic discipline of Amazons would suggests uniforms, but in addition to the obligatory Wonder-Woman of China, there's also three Wonder Girls.
Given the Robins are all distinguishable by name and outfit, how would you go about adding some distinction? Leave the China knockoffs as knockoffs, or give them their own names? Give China Super-Man and Bat-Man more distinct outfits? New York Batman? Clothing alterations for Supergirl-Superboy-Superboy-Star Child-Red Son? New name for one of the Superboys? One of the Steels? New names for two of the Wonder Girls?

I always thought the huge families were getting ungainly, but seeing it presented like that really makes me think so.
Personally, I think they ought to trim the number of characters a bit. That's going to make some people unhappy if it gets rid of whoever their favorite iteration is, but I mean, my god. The Crisis happened because they thought all the multi-verse continuity was getting unmanageable, but giving Superman and Batman small armies of tangential characters, many of whom aren't particularly distinguishable from each other to the casual viewer, seems unsustainable.
Batman's Family not only includes Batgirls and Robins, there's also at one time or another Huntress, Azrael, Spoiler, Gotham Girl, Orpheus, The Signal, and Catwoman I guess. So that gives them a lot more variety than the Superfamily.
Please remember that, ultimately, fictional works of entertainment are just that.Okay, like I would make the China characters change their name and alter their looks, except Peng Delian. Her outfit is just fine, and I'd just have her go by Green Snake, because. But the change would be the subject of a character arc, not an abrupt thing.
Red Son, though? I'd make his entire outfit red except the boots would be purple and the "S" shield would be pink, which is still a shade of red. All red everything.
Star Child would have a white outfit with a black star at each point of her "S" shield.
Jon Kent would be Silver Son, with an all silver suit except a black and gold "S" shield.
Natasha Iron's would be renamed "Stainless".
Reason for changes? Suggestion of a confused reporter.
New York Batman would be Direbat, from the big brown bat, the largest cave bat species endemic to New York.
Reason for change? He's now a reserve member of Batman Inc.
Donna Troy would beWonder Geist, because of her enigmatic history Wrathammer, because she can hit really hard.
Yara Flor would be Woodhaunter, after the flamboyant bird of the Amazon Rain Forest inside of Brazil's borders.
Reason for changes? Myndi Mayer gets a sequel to LeRoy Fontaine's Wonder Woman movie from Sensation Comics into production, but neither the director nor the merchandise executives want three characters called Wonder Girl.

Doesn't Donna have Troia for if she wants a name other than Wonder Girl?
Yes, but Troia's dumb. Almost as dumb as the TV Tropes forum post formatting that refuses to let me break up my paragraphs the way I want to no matter which character I type in between them.
Moreover, Troia's a remnant from that Titan Seed thing, those kids DC is never going to use again and never had much interest in the first place. And if Donna's going to keep wearing a "W"/"WW" belt buckle she might as well have a name with a "W" or two in it.
Buldogue's lawyerI love the families. That basically every major character has an ever-growing Found Family is super heartwarming to me. Getting rid of them would just piss people off, too. New 52-era Flash...

First issue's pretty neat. It's mostly lore, there's no character or anything of the sort, but there's a real sense of history. It both embraces that history and blends it into a cohesive whole, and almost makes you want to read the material it's referencing.
