How very convenient for you, Mr. Chicadino.
For the record, I think those are going to be Boris and... That one little lizard guy that I forgot the name of.

Not sure exactly what's happening, but I'm sure it's catastrophic.
I wonder if Poppy will be blamed for this, somehow?
On an unrelated (and probably needlessly morbid) note... If you were to guess how Morbi would actually kill off his main character, how do you think he'd do it? Do you think he'll go for the somber, quiet end, where Poppy's clock simply runs out, followed by a Big Fish-style funeral? Or would he go with a more conventional death during a confrontation with The Specter of Fate/Chicadino's syndicate/whatever?
Morbi likes to troll his 4chan fanbase. He also really likes the main characters, especially the opossum ones (he likes opossums).
From all the info there exists on the creator, Poppy is his dream project. He would not kill a character he is really attached to, unless there is a VERY good reason.

He has to end the series someday. And being that he's given opossums a rather short lifespan, Poppy has a bad heart, the populace seems to be only a couple of provocations from a possum-pogrom, she's on both Chicadino's AND Poda's radars, and she has a tendency to put herself in harm's way... Unless this "Iron Matron" business means she's some kind of demigod, I don't see it ending any other way besides death or otherwise impending mortality.
Plus, unless Morbi's lying to his Tumblr followers or he's got some loophole in his head, he's established that death is very permanent in Flora; people who die can only be "copied," and opossums, nullifying magic through their heartbeat, would be immune to Silvana's "reanimation" trick. If she dies, there's no coming back... Unless there's something about the Floran afterlife that Morbi will eventually explain.
He's painted a very bleak world for opossums, and no matter how much he loves his characters, I can't imagine he'd let them be above that; not without undercutting everything he's already set up.
... Sorry about regurgitating all of this at you again. This is generally the only place I can discuss this. I'm... Obsessed with this comic; I can't explain why. But I've actually managed to invest myself into this work more than any other piece of media I've ever consumed.
I mean, that's what I hoped, that she'd be the Possumessiah or something, that she'd somehow be led to "return" magic to opossums, and she and Lily could live a happy, longer life after everything was said and done.
Somehow, I've got it in my head that that's not what Morbi's gonna give us. But I'll keep reading and see.

Got some detective work goin' on, here.
