Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Boring. So boring. I like the worldbuilding, I like the aesthetic, I liked fight, but none of this makes up for the sheer amount of nothing in the episode
Captain Earth: Felt like a couple different series stitched together. Like, there was a flashback to something out of Hot-Blooded Super Robot series right in the middle of decidedly melancholy scene. It is incredibly jarring. The show might be good once it figures out what it wants to be, but I'm not terribly optimistic, given that it's by the team that did Star Driver, which did know what it wanted to be and was still a mess
Love Live S2: The episode itself was incredibly contrived, but that's clearly because they want to get the set-up over with. Otherwise, much the same as before
Love Live S2: That setup is... Well, I guess Ass Pulls are one way to write oneself out of a corner. It looks like the rest of the episodes will be good, however.

Really? The Cold Open reeked Madoka to me.
Brynhildr - First impression is much better than Elfen Lied, tension builds up nicely without resorting to gorn. The OP suggests there will be some gore, so I still have my doubts.
Love Live S2 - Having another tournament this soon is very contrived. The fake OP is funny, but S1 had a better start. The real OP and the gags are on par with S1. Watching S1 is highly recommended before trying this.
One Week Friends - It is like Kotoura-san without the Mood Whiplash, and has an art style that doesn't hurt your eyes.
WIXOSS isn't like Madoka. Takara Tomy probably think, hey this season have a lot of CCG series, plus YGO Arc V, so why not do one with female protagonist to lure some fan out since it's what a lot of YGO fans always wanted, anyways? From the reaction Arc V's getting, WIXOSS is ahead.
Keep in mind that this isn't JC Staff's first Po Mo series. If anything WIXOSS is closer to YGO 5D's than anything.
current watch list after the first episode:
- Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei - I've been burned by Mahou Sensou last season, but this seems slightly better at pacing and art, and I didn't manage to hate all the characters after 20 minutes; let's see how much time it takes to devolve into high school shenanigans with a touch of incest. at least the MC seems to be Genre Savvy, if not entirely aware.
- Captain Earth - DAT GATTAI.
- Mushishi second season - still need to catch up with the first
- Blade and Soul - was pleasantly surprised, comparing the PV with the first episode, but the style is a bit meh
- Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii
- Akuma no Riddle
- Selector Infected WIXOSS
- Isshuunkan Friends - god, I hope it's not another Kotoura-san; my little heart would not survive the disappointment
- Gokukoku no Brynhildr - the mystery seems to be decently set up, and there are some funny Mood Whiplash scenes
- Mangaka-san to Assistant-san to - hopefully it'll stay light, like Tonari no Seki-kun
planning to watch:
- Sidonia no Kishi - I was pretty hyped for this, but it's going to be a full CG anime, and I'm not entirely sure it'll work. Arpeggio of Blue Steel kinda worked, so I still entertain some measure of hope
- No Game No Life
the ImoCho award of the season (for the anime that I watched and dropped within 10 minutes):
- Daimidaler - just, no.

First episode impressions:
- Blade and Soul: Decent enough. Lots of bloodshed.
- Mushishi: Excellent reintroduction to the series.
- Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou: Rather generic rom com, but it wasn't pretending to be anything else really. Very much enjoyed it for what that's worth.
- Selector Infected WIXOSS: The one thing I found interesting was that other girl's wish to become her twin brother's lover, "a wish that can't be granted just by giving it your all". Otherwise dull.
- Akuma no Riddle: Needs a bit more direction, but murder battles are always fun.
- Dragonar: Run-of-the-mill.

I think it was Random Curiousity that said Kanojo Ga Flag O Oraretara wasn't going to be like Noucome. In my opinion if it's not, they must be aiming to hook exactly the same fans with the first episode.
In any case it's nothing special. It's something I'll follow for now, but I think the foundations of the show are pretty weak. If they try to go the dramatic route I can't see it working for them either.
My favourite nitpick about the show is that the flag timing seems entirely drama and plot-convinient.
On the bright side even if the girls' chracters are over-done rather like they are in Noucome, at least they stand out.
The Flag Oretara manga suffers from the "SUDDENLY, PLOT!" syndrome by the way, but most of the initial chapters don't even refer to it at all, so I'm curious just how the anime will work with that, at least.
I mean, what with the world they're in supposedly a construct, and what's more, already supposedly "death flagged" many years before (meaning it's already been destroyed), and actual fairies and dragonslayers, well...
Oh, and managed to finally watch the Mangaka-san adaptation. 12 minutes seems just right for it, given the skit nature of the manga, but... hearing Aito as Kirito was a bit of a surprise. Mihari was perfect though.

Will Soul Eater Not! be up in a bit? Does Knights Of Sidonia come up today or Thursday?
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them.First episode impressions:
- Kamigami no Asobi: The female lead is more interesting than usual, which already makes this a cut above the other otome game adaptations I've watched.
- La Corda d Oro: Standard reverse harem fare.
- Captain Earth: Classic mecha story with jumpy direction and a really shiny coat of paint. Loved it.
- Baby Steps: Nice and relaxin' sports story.
- Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Action scenes were cool, and... that's it, really. In it for the magic system more than anything else.
- Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushi: Relentlessly amusing, surprisingly good.
Black Bullet: Seems good enough. Find it amusing that lolis are the last hope for humanity.
Kanojo ga Flag: It appears to be an okay enough adaptation aside from that art style. I hate that art style, though it's mostly the colouring that ruins it for me.
Kawaisou: Promises to be amusing, but we'll see.

Impressions thus far:
- Wizoss: Hasn't watched.
- Mahoukan: Hasn't watched.
- Flag: Eh, it was semi-funny, but nothing special, and as mentioned, the animation and art is awful.
- Soul Eater Not: Nice to see Maka's awesome gloves again. Not going to bother.
- Majin Bone: ... It's better than expected? Not sure why, the animation and design isn't that good, but the characters seem... Lively.
- Mangaka-san: Eh, not that funny. (wasn't really out there enough to not be unpleasant)
- Brynhildr: Haven't watched.
- Daimdaler: WHAT THE FUCK!? I did watch all of Imo Cho just in the vain hope of finding out what the purple-haired girl was about (THEY NEVER EXPLAINED!), so I guess I can't drop this but... What the fuck! Penguin goons are neat though.
- Dragonar: "Generic" doesen't even begin to cover it. Well, except for that succubus-like situation there.
- Akuma no Riddle: Trashy. Might still watch.
- Soredemo: Liked first episode. Nike is pretty neat.
- Kamigami no Asobi: I laughed at Zeus. Okay, this might be fun.
- Captain Earth: Generic, the only standout was the pink girl who powered her mech with her libido. Hoping it will end up cracky.
- Blade & Soul: Well animated but... Boring. It really didn't sell me on the first episode. Needs some decent character dynamics or a plot twist or it won't work.
- Bokura wa Minna Kawaiso: Hmmm, seems decent enough, but I'm not sure if that's due to the fact that the season is overall so weak. As mentioned reminds me a bit of Sakurasou No Pet No Kanojo. I also wonder if his middle-school life has plot relevance or something else, since he wants peace and quiet...
Mahou Shoujo Taisen: Oh, wow, not even worth the 4 minutes it takes to watch
Soul Eater Not: Okay? Seems to be going for a Slice of Life tone that I'm not really sure works with the cartoony SE-verse. Will give another episode to see if things pick up
Black Bullet: Good in most respects, but there's a fairly major issue— it has a dark, nightmarish setting, but a light-hearted, goofy tone

One Week Friends: Seems like it's going to be a little cute, and a little sad. Both of them are likeable enough. I get the same feeling as with Kotoura-san, having a girl with an unusual brain that makes it hard for her to have a "normal" life, and drawing sympathy out of that. So far seems to be a little more light-hearted while having less comedy, but it's hard to tell what's going to happen. Going to follow it.
