I guess you could say I do that with bubblegum pop artists, like Justin Bieber, One Direction and the like. I feel pretty indifferent about them but I'm tired of people complaining. In my opinion they're almost trivially easy to avoid, so there's no need to go out of your way to complain about them.

I'll do it if their reasoning is stupid (mostly because I hate badly constructed arguments more than the actual subject matter).

I guess on-topic, there aren't many genres I don't like—I can see merit in pretty much any form of music. I suppose stuff like Broke NCYDE I don't like, but I don't really feel any reason to defend them.
Well, there's something we can agree on. I like to give most things a chance, but I tend to feel like if I defend something I don't understand, I'm going to misrepresent it in some way.

I think my major issue with this is when a conflict simply isn't going to start. White knights going out looking for a genre to defend, usually to make themselves look good. That bothers me.

what you're all forgetting is that the haters of a band/genre/artist can be toxic or ridiculous enough to deserve white knighting
