Suggestion: Series.Doctor Who

At this point, we might as well wait for them to release an image of all thirteen.

Yeah. I'm sure one will come out soon, if there aren't fan-made ones already. (I'd be fine with a fan-made compilation like the current image.)

That's just a much better image. Assuming it looks good at wiki size, definitely worth a switch for the time being.

We could put it in. 13 won't appear in the series until a few months. There was also a group shot of all of them at the end of the 50th anniversary special.

The problem with the OP's suggestion is that it is so wide it'll be less clear at wiki size, and you also don't see nearly as much of each doctor (and their famous outfits) as in the current.

I like that, but a vertical arrangement would be better for formatting.

Perhaps the last scene of the 50th anniversary episode might be appropriate? I don't have a copy on hand, but it is basically each Doctor lined up (although when compressed for the wiki it might be a bit difficult to tell who is who).

TV Tropes will not accept any image greater than 350 px wide. And the editing could be better, as you said. It might be easier to arrange images from scratch, so I'm going to try take a stab at it, but my good computer is down, so I'll see what I can do on this ancient on that's falling apart.

I'd grabbed a screenshot of that group shot at the end of the 50th. Their faces aren't as clear as a collage.

Sigh, I thought 12 doctors would make a nice 3 x 4 grid, but now that John Hurt's in here too... If we decide to include him... But I suppose, eventually, there should be some artwork that includes the 12th doctor. It would also be nice to include the TARDIS and a Dalek, since they are so iconic. Anyway, I'm gonna put something together in a bit.

Well, here's my attempt at a collage using raw images. Photoshop makes it very easy to align them.

Am I the only one who thinks we should hold off on including 12 until he actually shows up in the series? It's only a month off, and our spoiler policy is to be careful about adding future spoilers.

I agree that we should withhold adding 12 until we see him, and preferably, his choice of wardrobe, but I do like the format proposed above that includes the TARDIS.

When will he officially debut? I suppose we can keep the thread sitting at the bottom of the queue until that time comes.

If I am right, he should debut in the christmas special, but they tend to be wearing the previous doctor's clothes during those scenes, so we'll be seeing him properly next year.

What date, though?

I'm not leaving this thread gathering dust until next year...if it's going to take that long for the Doctor to establish his wardrobe, then my vote is to put up that pic now, and then edit Twelve's pic when his season starts in earnest.

I dunno... I don't like the thought of a promotional image of Capaldi being used, as that isn't him in character. Chances are we might not even see him in costume until sometime next spring. (If, as is likely, the regeneration occurs towards the end of this year's Christmas special, he'll likely still be in whatever Smith is wearing.)

And so until whenever the episode after that airs, we'll have a photo of a guy who plays the Doctor — but not of him as his Doctor — staring at us. So if we're already acknowledging that when that happens, we'll need to change the picture again to update him to be in costume, why not just wait until then to add him in the first place?

So I'd vote for using the suggested four-column grid, but chopping off the bottom row containing Capaldi, the series logo, and the Tardis. (But save that to use when we do eventually add Capaldi's Doctor... assuming they don't change the series logo in the meantime! Maybe it'd be better to use the Pertwee / McGann logo that is used over any merchandise not tied directly to the current series... Seems to be the current "timeless" logo, and wouldn't need changing any time the current show runner changes the logo he uses...)
