This second post will be updated after every ‘Event’ that occurs. Unlike most games of this sort, there is no in universe set time scale of ‘a new attack every week’ or similar, at least not until near the end of the war. Doesn’t mean things won’t be difficult and/or awesome, though.
The Hong Kong Shatterdome
The oldest and largest shatter dome (currently ranked '2nd' out of 8 for respect), Hong Kong is capable of housing up to thirty Jaegers, though only six would actually be deployable, the rest in storage. In charge of protecting basically the entire southern half of Asia, Hong Kong has seen more than its fair share of Kaiju attacks.
- Grand Map: [1]
◊ By default, all deployments will occur at the 'Miracle Mile' - roughly ten miles from the edge of the coastline/city under attack.
- Respect: Great! (as Hong Kong's respect rises, it means that the PPDC will afford more funds, so more efforts can be made to make sure everything is in working order and new upgrades can be researched - in other words, the more awesome you do, the more options become available. In addition, Hong Kong's 'respect' changes depending on how well the other Shatterdome's are doing throughout the war, and the plot may change as a result!)
- Jaegers: 3 (Crimson Typhoon, Shaolin Rogue, Horizon Brave)
- Projects & Progress
- Artificial Breach: By studying the physics and structure of the Breach, the hope is to be able to create a similar, smaller phenomena with human technology. 02/15 actions to completion!
- IB 34 Plasma Caster: An upgraded version of the IB 22 Plasma Caster, losing some damage but massively reducing the charge time. 1/3 actions to completion!
- Overclocking System: A 'super mode' whereby a Jaeger can increase its stats for the next turn, at the cost of a rank in Stability. Project Complete! Will cost one action per Jaeger and will reduce respect for the Shatterdome.
- New Ranger Training Programs: Progress unknown, story-based.
Crimson Typhoon
- Appearance: [2]
◊
- Mark: IV
- Pilots: Wei Tan Jin, Wei Tan Hu and Wei Tan Cheung
- Number of Drops: 1 Real (1 kill), 31 Simulated (24 kills)
- Agility: 8
- Armour: 8
- Stability: Stable
- Equipment, Weapons & Techniques
- Three Pilot Pons System: Unique amongst Jaegers, Crimson Typhoon has a three pilot system. Each pilot works in synch to control most of CT's movements, while the two main pilots (Jin and Hu) each control one of the smaller right arms. The third pilot (Cheung) is then given control of equipment such as the jetpack and pivot waist. Crimson Typhoon gains additional benefits from a positive Stability rating, but suffers greater penalties from a negative Stability rating.
- Jet Thrusters: On its back are a set of four, high powered thrusters not unlike those of a massive aircraft, linked up to the central core. Crimson Typhoon can dash forwards, even lifting itself up into the air as a sort of jump or pounce. Crimson Typhoon can launch itself up to 2 spaces in any direction besides its standard movement that turn.
- IB 22 Plasma Caster - Plasma Casters have become a fairly standard weapon in many Jaegers. Crimson Typhoon's is located in the larger left arm, and is by far the most powerful Plasma Caster ever created - albeit at the price of a noticeably longer charge time. Must charge for two turns before firing, other actions can be performed with other limbs while charging. Has up to 8 spaces of range, deals 8 Plasma damage to Armour.
- Sawblade Mode - Each hand possesses a high powered, diamond edged rotating saw blade, the individual blades carefully inserted into the fingers - when activated, the blades extend and the fingers fold backwards in order to produce a high powered tearing spin. These can be activated individually or in multiples. When activated, all hand strikes with hands in Sawblade Mode deal Blade damage instead of Impact damage. The left arm cannot enter Sawblade Mode whilst the IB 22 Plasma Caster is activated.
Shaolin Rogue
- Appearance: Awesome art courtesy of open_sketchbook, creator of the original Cherno Alpha Vs The World thread on Space Battles
◊
- Mark: III
- Pilots: Li Min and Daniel Martins
- Number of Drops: 6 Real (4 kills), 74 Simulated (58 kills)
- Agility: 9
- Armour: 4
- Stability: Stable
- Equipment, Weapons & Techniques
- Flexi-Joints: Shaolin Rogue was the third Jaeger to utilize 'Flexi-Joints', highly advanced pivots throughout its various limbs and joints to give it greater reach and agility. Shaolin, however, is so far the only Jaeger to have been given a 'perfected' form of the technology. All of Shaolin Rogue's limbs can bend in ways that would heavily strain most human beings. Shaolin Rogue gains +2 to all Agility rolls involving hand to hand combat.
- Impact Hammers: The palms of Shaolin Rogue's hands are both equipped with 'Impact Hammers', specialized concussive weapons. By gripping something and then flexing the wrist, close range shockwaves are sent through the target area, essentially bypassing armour to damage the insides. Melee only, must successfully grapple the opponent first, deals 1d6 Impact damage to Agility.
- Pivot Throws: Shaolin Rogue can use its Flexi-Joints, and the martial arts skills of its pilots, to effectively grapple with its opponents and throw or knock them away with surprising strength considering its weaker armour and slight frame. Melee only, must successfully grapple the opponent first, deals 2 Impact damage to Armour, can launch the target 1d6 spaces in any direction.
Horizon Brave
- Appearance: [3]
◊
- Mark: I
- Pilots: Lo Hin Shen and Xichi Po
- Number of Drops: 5 Real (2 kills), 77 Simulated (68 kills)
- Agility: 4
- Armour: 6
- Stability: Stable
- Equipment, Weapons & Techniques
- Cryo Cannons: All Jaeger's utilize vast quantities of coolant throughout their systems to prevent overheating from the massive strains of movement, and to keep the nuclear reactor stable. Horizon Brave is unique in that it possesses shoulder mounted cannons that can release excess coolant as a spray, rapidly freezing a target and making it vulnerable to further attacks. Has up to 4 spaces of range, deals 1d6 Cryo damage to Agility and 1d6 Cryo damage to Armour. Target area is 'frozen' after usage, taking +2 from Impact damage.
Events so far
- Barracudask attacks Wangjiao Bay, China, on August 22nd 2018
but is flawlessly defeated by Crimson Typhoon
- Skullface attacks Sydney Harbour, Australia, on October 29th 2018
but is, after some complications, defeated by Shaolin Rogue and Vulcan Specter
It is currently August, 2018.
Hong Kong has just finished the construction of Crimson Typhoon, the world’s last Mark IV Jaeger. All around the globe, the Mark IV Jaegers have just been unveiled and assigned to various Shatterdomes, and the people of the world give thunderous applause! With powerful, experimental designs and well-trained, eager crews, the Kaiju threat can’t help but be seen as surprisingly small against them.
And just in the nick of time, too. A signal is picked up from the breach on August 22nd, 2018. Scans and long-range observation indicate it may be the largest Category III Kaiju on record, and its headed straight for Hong Kong.
How many Jaegers should be launched, and which ones? Launching more than two may reduce respect for the Shatterdome, but can be done so if you wish. Launching only one will noticeably increase respect for the Shatterdome if it succeeds, but will drastically reduce respect if it fails.

Plan Awesome Tag-Team Action: Let's launch two - Shaolin Rogue and Crimson Typhoon. While it'll be mostly Crimson's show and debut appearance, it'll still be good to have a backup there as a 'mentor' or 'coach' to help them out in case anything unexpected happens or if Crimson needs any pointers mid-battle. You know, kind of like when people go skydiving for the first time and they have a second right there with them. That sort of thing.
And with more real-world experience AND a better design, Shaolin is probably better suited to fill that role for now.

That's the smart plan. But I say the awesome plan is to send Crimson Typhoon out by himself. First drop should totes be solo. It would be glorious.

Click Click Boom Boom
He'll still be doing the heavy lifting and going into the actual fight by himself.
Shaolin will be there, she'll just be holding back just of the coastline as an observer. Far enough to give Crimson breathing room and independence, close enough to provide advice if Crimson wants it and support come worst case scenario.

But on the other hand, we have a brand new Mark IV Jaeger, it's the first round, and deploying alone = more respect, so What Could Possibly Go Wrong?
So far there are two votes for plan Awesome Tag Team Action and two votes for Crimson Typhoon going it alone.
Anyone else want to vote, or anyone want to change their votes?
Also, some more in-universe stuff...
The waters churned, as the hater of humanity moved with terrible speed and purpose. But then... then it waited. It had been just about to devour a small shipping boat when it heard the roar of the engines of human machines.
So it waited. And it watched. And the members of LOCCENT had found it.
Using the map here
◊ and some sort of image software (doesn’t have to be fancy), indicate where you want ‘Your Jaegers of Choice’ to be deployed (that is, which spaces). The Kaiju is shown by the letter K, but a definite image of its appearance or abilities is yet unknown.

Plan Youth and Experience.
Launch two Jaegers, Horizon Brave and Crimson Typhoon. My reasoning is that Horizon Brave already has the most real kills, we should therefore try to spread them out more.
If you need game mechanic reasoning, Horizon Brave has both more armour than Rogue and a ranged attack making her better suited to the coach position.

Tealove is best pony.Pony Fanon IndexThe island is 'Dangan Island
' - the area shown specifically is Wangjiao Bay on Dangan Island, the northern chunk of it.
It's roughly ten miles south of Hong Kong - it's got a small but noticeable population dwelling in simple fishing villages, though admittedly most of those are located on the west or southern side of the island.
Plan Youth and Experience it is, with five votes. Where do you want them deployed? If you don't have some sort of imaging software, then just say 'roughly' where you'd like them deployed. Again, the map is here, Kaiju shown by the letter K: [1]

Cheung tried to breathe deeply. He'd been in the Drift exactly twice - firstly to test Dr Lightcap's three person Neural Handshake, and once to test the machine itself. His hands and head felt clammy, the surreal melding of thoughts and emotions always a strange experience. His thoughts were interrupted by a voice through the Drift. Calm, but barely containing some sort of rage - Cheung wasn't sure if it was cold or hot, though.
"Try not to let it worry you - focus on the job at hand. We're going to make this sucker burn."
Trust Jin to always change the subject to how much they were going to destroy the Kaiju. Cheung gulped, ever so slightly, before he felt himself jolted from the strange tranquility that always formed in the Drift.
He could feel it, the strength of the cables, as their great machine in red was lifted up by the 'Jumphawks' - massive rotored aircraft designed specifically to carry the Jaegers. It still took eight of the things to get them around anywhere in good time.
As they flew, he saw the world beneath - in a Jaeger it already seemed so small, but from the air as well? It was breath-taking. He saw as they left behind Hong Kong bay, once massive freighters and cargo ships seeming like toys, and the rippling waves of that grey afternoon ocean seeming to stretch out forever.
But he could see at the end, their destination, the various islands that stretched out in weaving archipelagos, each containing its own little village or town. Each was unique, but one in particular was of interest right now - Wangjiao Bay.
"That's where we're gonna fight it?! Sweeettt!" came Hu's voice through the Drift.
"I'm not so sure, after all" came Cheung's reply, "people live here. Fishermen and farmers. Our job is to protect them, not to show off."
"An audience? Even better!"
Cheung tried to scowl at him, but failed due to the obvious problem that Hu was in front of him, and they all faced the same direction. He must have picked it up through the Drift, though, since he responded with a snicker and a single raised finger. Cheung looked to Jin, towards his right. Jin was the eldest - he was meant to keep order, and normally he would've told them to knock it off.
But right now, his mind seemed to be filled with only one thing.
Meanwhile, the pilots of Horizon Brave - clad as they were in bulky, crudely designed bronze Drive Suits - seemed unsure about the whole ordeal.
"I thought we were going to retire once they built those newfangled Mark IV's, dear? Rather than babysit the rookies?" asked Po with a smirk.
Shen just laughed.
"Maybe - but here we are. Besides, we're getting too old for a normal life, now. Might as well make the most of it while we're here!"
The two of them high-faved - and the machine shuddered, much to the annoyance of the Jumphawk pilots.

Also, fun fact!
I was going to have movement be 'Agility halved', but after making the maps that big, I think I'll just keep it as 'can move {Agility} number of spaces' - Shaolin can move 9, followed by Crimson at 8, and Horizon at 4.
Also, gonna edit some of the stats for the Jaegers abilities to make up for this new aspect.

I'm good with that deployment, Brave can get in range of the Kaiju in one movement. It has us a bit close to the shore, but this way we get some charge time, speaking of which we should start charging the cannon as soon as we drop, the Kaiju will probably reach us before it finishes but 8 damage sounds good.
Tealove is best pony.Pony Fanon Index
Personally, I'm not much a fan of deploying Crimson so close to the shore either, but it was either that, deploy him on the other side (leaving the Kaiju potentially free to rampage on shore before Crimson can get to it), or deploy practically on top of the Kaiju where there would be minimal reaction time if the Kaiju didn't want to wait to attack, which could be A Very Bad Thing if the Kaiju is built for speed.

With a loud 'click' the cables detached, and Crimson Typhoon descended. Cheung could feel it, the air pressure decreasing as they plummeted, landing just off the coast of the island.
Horizon Brave landed further north, its body bracing for impact much better than they did. Cheung figured it was within sprinting distance for them, but he couldn't help but wonder if the older Jaeger would be fast enough to reach them, were there an emergency.
"Relax, no emergencies here!"
Cheung merely sighed and rolled his eyes. Stupid Hu.
"Focus, people!" came Jin's reply.
Focus would indeed be needed, as the waters further out from the bay began to surge and crash. What looked like a fin began to twist, moving with terrible speed, at a tight but noticeable curve. It was moving around, away from Horizon to target Crimson!
As the Jaegers arrive and the waters form almost storm like waves from the Kaiju, once curious villagers head for the hills (quite literally).
Thus begins your first Turn (essentially it goes 'Kaiju Deployment, Jaeger Deployment', 'Kaiju Turn, Jaeger Turn' and so on - in future, you may be able to upgrade this for faster response times, changing the order of intiative). The Map.

The year is 2018. Things were pretty bad, but now they're awesome!
So, back in 2013 an interdimensional rift opened up at the bottom of the Pacific ocean, and a giant monster (called a Kaiju) popped out and demolished a city or two till they managed to take it out with a nuke. Then a few months later another one showed up and attacked Japan. Then Manila in the Phillipines got smashed by a third one (which promptly laid a massive dump on it, too). Long story short, these things were a bunch of hardass dinosaur beasties and we were running out of options. With conventional weapons taking way too long to kill them, and nuclear bombs causing almost as much damage as the Kaiju themselves, we needed a new solution.
Giant robots to punch them in the face! Called Jaegers, these 80 meter tall machines have been utterly destroying the Kaiju ever since we built the first one in Alaska- they haven't suffered a single casualty yet! Their pilots are living the high life, and at this point the Kaiju aren't so much a 'world ending threat' and more of an awesome time waster.
At the Hong Kong shatter-dome, construction has finally finished on the latest and greatest Mark IV Jaeger - Crimson Typhoon. With three arms, a rotating waist, a jetpack, saw blade hands, and the most powerful plasma cannon of any Jaeger so far, Crimson Typhoon (and its three rookie pilots) are ready for anything!
Though, some people rumour things could go downhill, what with that whole dimensional portal thing starting to stabilize... but those people, anyone with a lick of sense or fun will tell you, are weirdoes and kill joys. So relax, kick back, and see the world collapse into badassery!
So yes, this is a Pacific Rim forum game, in the vein of Cherno Alpha vs. the World or Wild Ronin: Destroy All Kaiju
For those of you who don't know, essentially we are in charge of managing a base of operations for giant robots (Jaegers), tasked with defending humanity against the steadily increasing (both numerically and size wise) giant monsters (Kaiju) threat.
Unlike those games, however, there will be less resource management (you get a handful of options between fights, and how many of those options you can choose depends on how well you defeated the Kaiju in the previous battle) and no conventional forces helping out Crimson Typhoon and the other two Hong Kong jaegers - Horizon Brave and Shaolin Rogue.
Also note, that because this is at the start of Crimson Typhoon's career, it (and its pilots) may not yet have achieved their full potential. They won’t have access to all of their stuff from the movie right away, for example, but other, non-canon stuff might become available, too...
