Finding Taiyang/Summer fanfics is surprisingly hard considering that, you know, they're the parents of the protagonist. I have checked on both FF and AO 3, but most Summer-heavy romance fics use the "Qrow is Ruby's dad" fanon with minimal mention of Taiyang. Even with some of the few Tairose works, they still often use that theory. I've read only ten or less stories that don't.
I hope we get some cute Summer and Taiyang flashbacks ASAP so people will write about their relationship more.
The new chapter of Relic of the Future is out.
So, Jaune now even takes Cinder under his wings. Kinda.
Man, it would be so amusing if she develops feelings for Jaune as well. I always pegged her as being asexual so it wouldn't feel too natural, but that would amuse me so hard.
In due fairness, the different versions of Jaune in Coeur's fics are hardly the same character despite sharing the same name. There is the regular Jaune, perverted ghost Jaune, depressed time-traveler Jaune, manster manipulator Jaune, prince of the Grimm Jaune, slightly less depressed time-traveler Jaune... really it's the other characters who get kind of repetetive due to not getting changed as much as Jaune.
So, time for another topic: Do you like seeing the characters' original personalities changed? Or, if you are writing fanfics yourselves, do you change them for the purposes of your stories?
I, personally, have no respect for the originals. I will keep their personalities consistent with canon when I have no good excuse to change them, but othewise, they get rewritten on the spot. I am even writing a fic in which everyone has their moral alignments turned 180 degrees, so that Cinder is Remnant's best hope for salvation and Ruby is a menace to every living being.
Apathy is Death. Worse than Death, because at least a rotting corpse feeds beasts and insects. There is one RWBY crossover I love and am following currently, since Feb 2017. Remnant Inferis: DOOM and oh I fucking love it. It's very bloody and gory! DOOM x RWBY crossover, yeah.
And it has some revelations about demons themselves in later chapters... it also utterly trounces The Stations of the Canon completely. Well not 100%, there's some instances revisited but that can be counted on one hand.
And it is oh so satisfying to see the RWBY villains put in their places.
Interestingly, it's more of a RWBY story than one might think due to... well, spoilers.
That said, I can't wait for DOOM Eternal to come out so author can incorporate and twist ideas further.

And yet another chapter of Relic of the Future. Can I just say that I love this portrayal of Emerald? Her twisted perception of the world manages to be hilarious, tragic and horrifying at the same time. Her canon version is somewhat interesting as well, with this whole My Master, Right or Wrong attitude towards Cinder, but the RofF Emerald is a far better character.
Apathy is Death. Worse than Death, because at least a rotting corpse feeds beasts and insects.Read the last two chapters of Professor Arc.
Wow. Ozpin escaping ambush by Cinder, Tyrian, Hazel, AND Leonardo without even throwing a single attack and practically trash-talking them into submission?
That's...the most badass thing I've seen Ozpin ever doing, both in canon and fanworks.
Read the latest chapter of Relic of the Future.
Yeah, I am with Qrow here. As I read on, I couldn't help but thinking "Oh my God you two, KISS ALREADY."
Yeesh. Jaune should totally marry Winter and have Raven as his mistress. Or marry them both. XD
Continuously reading, studying, and (hopefully) growing.
Yes, Relic of the Future should definitely end with Jaune, Winter and Raven entering a romantic relationship. Maybe Adam could join in, since Jaune did admire his handsomeness at one point. It is also vital that Young!Jaune gets his date with Nora and Ren.
Coeur was always too tame with his pairings. Time to make up for that.

Doesn't White Sheep end with Jaune banging and knocking up both Yang and Ruby?
This comment made me laugh so hard. This is a totally meme-worthy level. ![]()

Continuously reading, studying, and (hopefully) growing.I'll stop reading Remnant Inferis DOOM if Gamerjay tried something like that. That's a promise
I came for brutal violence and gore and demon slaying, not harem shenanigans.
Speaking of it, I wonder how much the stuff author came up for DOOM part is gonna hold true once more information on DOOM Eternal rolls in, Bethesda's conference is gonna be today...
He expressed concerns that he might have to rewrite a lot of details if it doesn't match up but I believe he should go down the road he chose and just alter details. Yeah.

I'm just joking around. While Coeur can get pretty ridiculous with all the love hexagons centered around Jaune, it is mostly just comedy and actual relationships are written rather well.
As for whether he is better than RWBY showrunners, it really depends on the work. Not this time, Fate is definitely superior to the canon story in my opinion, while Forged Destiny manages to be worse than RWBY at its lowest point. I'd say he is a good writer with some specific flaws that can occasionally fuse themselves into major problems.

Apathy is Death. Worse than Death, because at least a rotting corpse feeds beasts and insects. The last few chapters of RWBY: Scars are a doozy of a pickle. I can't believe Whitley stabbed Jacques to death (?). I'm cringing about the inevitable Blake-Yang and Yang-Weiss meetings though; they're probably gonna be so awkward.

Not to mention, Professor Arc actually has a hero-villain dynamic — if Jaune can still be called a hero, that is — as opposed to the main show, where the closest thing to rivarly we get is whatever Blake and Adam are to each other. I still believe Not this time, Fate to be somewhat better though, because of how cleverly it plays with the common fanfiction tropes and concepts and manages to tell an interesting story at the same time.
Sorry, I'm not particularly interested in those so I can't recommend any.
Now, is there any fanfic in which the main cast, or even just Yang and Blake, die a series of horrible and/or humiliating deaths? I figured I'll enjoy Volume 7 more if I find some catalyst for my hatred towards these characters before watching.
