You beat me to it, and yeah, RWBY Chibi fics are indeed more or less regular RWBY parody fanfics.
Just finished Captain Dragon by Couer d'aran. Slow first few chapters, but it picks up fast afterwards and ends in a satisfying note. I hated how an OC organization from the author's other fanfic interfered with the story, though.
Continuously reading, studying, and (hopefully) growing.I've been working on some rough ideas for new Grimm species. Anyone interested in the subject?
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.OK. Keep in mind that I literally started writing these a couple of days ago, and it's all just rough concepts. Also, I'll be using notes for providing name translations and/or namesakes.
Akulanote
Shark-like aquatic Grimm. Comes in a variety of sizes, from as small as a Galapagos bullhead sharkVariants with their own names include:
- Pilanote : small to medium-sized, has saw-like snout
.
- Molotnote : small to medium-sized, has hammer-like head
.
- Chelustinote : large-sized, resembles the real-life great white shark
. Typically 6 meters long, they continue to grow indefinitely, with reports of especially ancient individuals (known as "Velikajanote Chelusti") measuring up to 30 meters long.
Drakonnote
Dragon-like terrestrial/aerial Grimm. Range from horse-sized drakonlings to the gigantic elder drakons. Usually has four legs, may or may not have wings; winged individuals that have only two legs are known as "wyverns". Full-grown individuals are among the most physically formidable species of Grimm to ever exist.Inspired by the Drakes from Remnant's Reclaimer. Modelled after European dragons
, in contrast to the Sea Feilong
being modelled after East Asian dragons
.
Dromonychusnote
Dromaeosaurid-like bipedal Grimm. Fast, agile and highly intelligent, typically hunt in packs and surprisingly capable of punching above their weight using numerical superiority and tactical acumen. Range from chicken-sizedHelhestnote
The Hellish Horse of terrestrial Grimm. Losing a leg barely hampers their mobility (unlike a real horse); rather, you have to cut off two paired legs (i.e. either both of the front legs or both of the hind legs).Krakennote
Giant squid/octopus amalgam. Ranges from the size of real-life giant squidNajarajnote
Giant serpent with a cobra-like hood. Renowned from being one of the most intelligent species of Grimm. Its fangs can inject potent, often-corrosive venom with every bite or spit it from a distance, it can constrict victims with bone-crushing force, or mesmerize you with eye contact.Edited by MarqFJA on Dec 16th 2018 at 9:20:29 PM
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Someone wrote an amateur-ish Death Battle with Ruby fighting Grim from Billy & Mandy. The idea was cute.
Renamed the Nychodon to Dromonychus.

? Like suggestions for fleshing out any of them?
See, that's a big problem that I've noticed in the color naming rule being apparently mandatory for Huntsman teams: It hinges on the rather very optimistic belief that fate will ensure that 1) every year's batch of combat school students that applies for a Huntsman Academy will always include groups of four people whose names would neatly form an acronym that you could make a color-based name from, 2) these quartets will be guaranteed to meet up during the Initiation, and 3) they will be guaranteed to pass together.
It's one thing to say that the post-Great War culture simply favors names that refer to colors in some way, and thus the Hunstman Academies lean towards such names when choosing ones for newly admitted teams. It's a whole other matter to say/show that every single Huntsman team (and there are many of them) obeys the rule and that there's never been occasions where it proved impossible to fulfill the tradition note . Just because you have a perfect Doylist reason for why you can make the concept work doesn't mean that you can just gloss over the fact that there's little to no Watsonian reason for said thing being so universally observed despite the statistical impossibility of it.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.
Hey, that's pretty neat. It could even sort of be argued to reference a color.

Yeah, I tend to take liberties with that "color naming rule" even when it comes to character names. I take issue with the idea that every single family in every society on the globe would obey some arbitrary tradition established less than eight decades ago. Unless all the Kingdoms have this rule as a law and are willing to wage a holy war against any settlement that tries to dissent.
My first OC team got very lucky in that regard, Team HART (Harley Maddox, Alice Blue, Rufus Snikersnax and TyrionThistle Cheshire). It put the leader first, paired partners together, used first names and fit their Alice In Wonderland theme. Perhaps I had the name first and built from there.
Team RFTS (Rubeus Snikersnax, Faust Forest, Taupe Lagos and Sunny Daiz) has leader first, partners paired, first names and tangentialy fits their theme of being characters from across different media. However, it’s not really a color, though they wore armbands with purple “scars” on them.
Team GLSS (Helga Ginnungagap, Lemon Lichenthrone, Forrest Squire and Shui-Pi) has leader first, something that is a color at a stretch and could fit their theme of each being half-mythological/fairy tale, half-video game characters. However, the choice of initials is all over the place, alternating between first and last names, partners are unpaired and I generally think it’s the worst as far as names go.
Anyone here read Not this time, Fate by any chance? I have some doubts about certain tropes applying.
Apathy is Death. Worse than Death, because at least a rotting corpse feeds beasts and insects. So, I came across a fan theory that also led me to a few fanfics, and I honestly want to punch myself for not thinking of this before.
- Cinder interrupted the attempt to transfer Amber's remaining half of the Fall Maiden's power to Pyrrha after the process had already started.
- Cinder took the rest of the Fall Maiden's power.
- Cinder eventually killed Pyrrha and burned her body to ashes.
Sooooo... What if the process had left Pyrrha with a faint connection to the Fall Maiden's power that resulted in her soul getting stuck in Cinder's body after her original body was killed rather than properly passing on the afterlife? And she either had such incredible willpower that it eclipsed Cinder's own and caused Pyrrha's consciousness to become the dominant one, or eventually clawed at Cinder's psyche until she pulled a Split-Personality Takeover? Or, to take a darker bent, what if Cinder and Pyrrha's souls' merger resulted in a haphazard mishmash that is dangerously unstable, with Cinder's personality largely dominant, and Pyrrha's love for Jaune corrupted into a Yandere-style obsession that fuels Cinder's already burning hatred for Ruby with delusional suspicions of the girl trying to "seduce" Jaune?
Don't believe me that it's a thing? Have a look at these, then.
- Pyrrha Nikos (Cinder Theme)
- Why do you have her Eyes?
- Happily Ever After
- Ashes of a Friend
- The Fall Maiden
- Incarnation
- Two Souls
There's one more, but it's technically NSFW, though only kind of note . I suppose it's not wise to directly link to it?
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. It would be funnier to write about a scenario in which Pyrrha manages to kill Cinder and absorb her power, but the latter manages to retain her consciousness inside her killer. Cue the Narcissist Complete Monster Cinder sitting in the Ideal Hero Extreme Doormat Pyrrha's head and acting like a stereotypical devil on the shoulder.
Pyrrha: No
Cinder: Oh, alright. Maybe just Vale then?
Pyrrha: No
Cinder: Ugh, you have no ambition, do you?
Pyrrha: No! Why would I do something like that?
Cinder: We would have more pancakes for ourselves.
Pyrrha: ...it's a good reason, but not quite good enough.
Pyrrha: What's the matter?
Cinder: I just found your plans regarding that blonde in your team.
Pyrrha: ...
Cinder: You know, I might be evil, but that is just messed up.
Pyrrha: ...shut up.

Apathy is Death. Worse than Death, because at least a rotting corpse feeds beasts and insects.Funny you should say that, because Two Souls (linked above) does pretty much that as the culmination of Pyrrha-inside-Cinder situation in the fic's backstory: Pyrrha decisively took over Cinder's body during/after the final battle against Salem (which is stated to happen a few years from the current canon time frame), and after the heroes' victory Cinder realized there's no point in her trying to reassert control, as she'll just be hunted to the ends of Remnant by everyone and their mother, so she just resigned herself to sitting in the back of Pyrrha's mind, watch the Huntress go through her new lease on life, and occasionally pester her over being overly conservative and undaring when it comes to her love life... as well as deliberately piss the girl off by making appreciative comments about how Jaune's physique got manlier over the past few years.
On a different note, this concept
of Grimmified RWBY characters — and more specifically, this "What if I offer Grimm!Ruby cookies?" RP sub-thread
— have caught my attention.

I think I talk about this theory in the main RWBY thread before or at least a very similar one (the one were maidens have all past maidens in there head or something similar to OZ) and there was a Fanfic is was reading (it hasn't been update for mouths) about Cinder having all the past maidens in her head call The Fallen Maiden [1]
And White Sheep has completed.
Man, what a fun read it has been! Honestly, I anticipated its chapters more than the actual episodes of the series.
And wow, the announcement to the long-awaited sequel to Professor Arc? Hell to the yeah!
Continuously reading, studying, and (hopefully) growing.
I stopped reading White Sheep a while ago. After Jaune's masquerade came to a rather underwhelming end and Ozpin turned into a villain for no reason I just couldn't bring myself to care anymore.
Still, I welcome the arrival of a sequel to Professor Arc. I wonder how should it be troped best - should it have a separte page once enough tropes accumulate, or will a new folder in the Professor Arc page be enough?
Apathy is Death. Worse than Death, because at least a rotting corpse feeds beasts and insects. We talk about RWBY fanfics in general. We are not just here to mention the ones we like, that's what the Fanfic Recs page is all about.
Apathy is Death. Worse than Death, because at least a rotting corpse feeds beasts and insects.Okay, I just wanted to make sure since I saw some of the old post talking about OCs and stories people created. I'm an aspiring writer, and I want to improve my skills as one.

Just look up RWBY fics with "Parody" tag and you've basically got RWBY Chibi. I really like Cookie Armageddon
and Cards Against Remnant.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!
