I'm not referring to things like wealth or looks. But rather, what TRAITS sidekicks/partners have inherited from their mentors.

With Batman, for example each of his Robins seem to have 'inherited' and/or expanded on one of his traits. - Dick has inherited Bruce's leadership skills, his personality allowing him to expand on that and become the type of leader people WANT to follow. - Jason seems to have Bruce's physical strength and power. He's by far the strongest Robin and can most easily match Bruce's style of fighting. - Tim has Bruce's intelligence and deductive capabilites and will probably get better at them as he ages. - Damian...Bruce's skill, maybe? He seems well versed in several types of weapons and will probably be the most polished as a fighter once/if he gets older.

I have no idea where the girls fit in.

What about other sidekicks/partners?

  • Cassandra Cain is easy. They explicitly say that her Thou Shalt Not Kill code is inspired by Batman, and that she became a member of the Bat-family specifically because he offered the best way to use her talents for good.
  • Stephanie Brown isn't so direct, because she was already a superhero before she ever met Batman, and she was more in contact with Tim than Bruce. However if I had to wank something, I'd say from Batman, she's learned the consequences of making a mistake. Before being taken under Bruce's wing, she really had no experience dealing with consequences on a macro level before.
  • Barbara Gordon is somewhere between the previous. Depending on the continuity, she either became Batgirl after being inspired by Batman, or specifically to get his attention. She's far better trained now, and more familiar with the ugliest side of crime.

Wally West inherited Barry's grandson. Barry didn't include the receipt with the gift.
