@Infinite: Looks good to me. Accepted.
@gaunt: Yeah, the heat aura is out. I suppose I could let a heat ray slide if it were a secondary power (an aspect of manipulating light, for example).
If you did that, though, you'd probably have to drop the Flying Brick part, as a character whose powerset includes both Flying Brick and Light 'em Up would be too powerful.
@KPSAM: El oh el. The Smurfette Principle is a pain, isn't it?
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Really? Well that sucks. Let's go for something less specific then:
Name: Joshua Kimball
Gender/Sex: Male
Appearance: Around 5'5", slim build (though he's working on that), short brown hair, big pointy nose, narrow cheeks, rather pale skin, green eyes, lots of freckles. Fairly unattractive, though not outright ugly. For his costume Joshua just wears a sleeveless black jacket and a pair of ripped-up jeans; they're easy to slip in or out of, so to speak.
Personality: Joshua considers himself an everyman just trying to make it and maybe do some good in the meantime. His lack of ambition has led him to a dead-end job as a data entry clerk in some boring office, but then again, a double life as a superhero will do that to your career aspirations. He's a pretty friendly guy, but a bit of a loner, afraid that if he lets people get too close his identity and "work" as a superhero could be compromised.
Side: Un-registered
Powers: Joshua considers himself a pretty tough guy, though he can't match up to those showoffs that are able to leap tall buildings and such. You know how they say your body is 80% water? Joshua takes this a bit more literally than most, able to turn his body into an amorphous gray substance. In this state he can shapeshift pretty freely, although his total mass remains constant, and he is both considerably stronger and more resistant to harm than an average human. What "hurts" him in this form is having part of him separated by force from the central mass; if he loses too much mass, he reverts back into a normal human.
Backstory: In school Joshua was kind of a nerd; he had a few friends, but not many. The bullying saw to that. After all, no one wanted to risk becoming a target by association. This made him pretty miserable until one day in junior high when the bullies thought it would be fun to try and burn him with a butane torch. Initially terrified and screaming, Joshua was quite confused when he saw that his skin was actually moving on its own, rippling further down his arm and away from the flame. A few broken bones later and voila, Joshua was expelled for using his newly-found powers to harass his fellow students, as the bullies told it at least. His family didn't disown him, but they did blame him for their having to move across the country; things weren't really the same after that. Joshua cut most ties to his parents at eighteen and settled into the lonely yet rather fulfilling life of a superhero.
Other: Although he does retain a pair of glowing eyes and the ability to form a mouth while in his amorphous form, Joshua has nothing resembling a face in this state, so he has no need to wear any kind of mask.

I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serial@ CATS: Just to clarify, does he have a superhero name he works under? If so, what is it?
@ mrminun: I'll assume you're working on a new appearance, due to the sex change your character had.
(If you never finished it in the first place, you shouldn't have claimed to be ready.)
@mrminun: I'm going to have to insist the sheet be fully finished before I deliver a verdict. (I'm not trying to be obnoxiously obstructive, but it's not fair to the other people if you get a de facto free pass on any part of the sheet.)
If it's going to take too long, just write out the appearance.
@CATS: Alright then. Accepted.
Also, as a general statement, counting mrminun's character we have a current ratio of 4 unregistered to 2 registered. Again, I want the sides roughly even, so keep this mind.

Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)I was planning on apping a female character as well in the interest of balance, but I don't want to swing that balance too far in the opposite direction either. And as for a country of origin I've narrowed it down to Belarus (often called Europe's last dictatorship) and Saudi Arabia. As for powers, still pondering that. Anyone got suggestions?
Avatar from: http://x0whitelily0x.livejournal.com/5953.html N: 5 F, 0/40 SWell, we have one projectile-based hero, three brawlers, and one guy with more specialized powers. There's not really any characters with flight or energy projection yet.
For the registered vs unregistered thing, I can switch over to registered, no prob. It's ironic cause when I first posted, it was 2v1 the other way around; I was actually trying to balance it out :p
I'm not going to ask people to switch sides unless absolutely necessary, and definitely not before all the people who've expressed interest have filled out a character for me to judge (or alternately withdrawn).
For now, stay as you are.

Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Hm... I could maybe dabble into energy projection and perhaps find a way for it to enable limited flight? Magnetism of the Magneto variety (not personal charisma) is interesting but I'm sure I'd bungle it somehow. Leaning a bit more towards a Saudi-born super of the female variety at the moment, since someone from Belarus could probably escape to somewhere safer that's closer to home given Scandinavia's close proximity and such.
Avatar from: http://x0whitelily0x.livejournal.com/5953.html N: 5 F, 0/40 S- Name: Elena Nesti - Ursa Major
- Gender/Sex: Female
- Appearance: This picture works
◊.
- Personality: Generally positive and humorous and is always fighting against her old unpleasant personality that she wants to distance herself from. Not really quite sure of her long-term goals and is just keeping at her idea of making the world 'better' for now. Has a good sense of humor. She can still feel the tiny presence of Natasha the bear kicking around in her head, but her powers let her keep it contained. Though now she really likes catching and eating wild fish and squirrels for some reason....
- Side: Registered
- Powers:
- Is a bear
- (Limited) Psychic Powers: On the telepathy front, she can project her thoughts at anyone in a football field's radius from her, and while she can't break down a person's defenses to read their minds, she can 'hear' people's thoughts if they are focused on thinking those thoughts 'out loud' (Basically if the thought is made with the intent of being heard), which makes it possible to carry out discreet conversations. Due to having a non-human mind and her own psychic bearriers, it's impossible to read her mind. However, while humans are far too complex to affect, she is capable of dominating and controlling the minds of bees/wasps/hornets/yellow jackets. For the telekinesis portion, she can exert a minor telekinetic force within five meters of himself, capable of manipulating lightweight objects, or pressing against things, allowing her to use things such as computers, phones, radios, or a television remote controls as if she had invisible hands.
- Hibearnation: The ability to induce rapid hibernation, where she is aware of her environment psychically, but otherwise unable to interact with the world physically and seems asleep, which grants a tremendous boost to recovery times, getting rid of most small wounds in less than an hour, and larger ones in several hours. In layman's terms, she can sleep off injuries, which is convenient due to the limited number of treatment options someone with her condition has.
- Backstory: Natasha descends from Kodiak bears that once were part of a failed Soviet science project to create psychic bears, which yielded no tangible results, and after the dissolution were sold to the Felderton Zoo to send some cash back to mother Russia. She was living happily in a zoo exhibit until the incident. Elena* was a first-generation American from a family of immigrants, who eventually discovered she had psychic powers. After her family was killed in a gang incident, she became a superhero who fought the scum of the Earth, often ignoring the advice of law enforcement agents telling her to leave it to the professionals to the point of possible criminal charges being pressed against her for her extreme methods. But before anything could come to fruition, she was killed on the job by a bomb that she thought she could disarm, but the bomb maker had rigged it to explode when the large red LED timer still read four minutes and thirty-nine seconds. Her mind floated in the zone between life and death in an out-of-body experience, rapidly moving around searching for a body that no longer existed, and just before her mind was about to fall apart she found a compatible vessel and tethered her mind to it. She opened her eyes to see was... a bear. She quickly escaped the zoo, but that didn't mean things were great. Life was difficult, all her powers were weakened or just plain different in this new physiology, she took a while to adjust, and she still missed a lot of the luxuries of humanity, but at least felt comfortable with who she now was and resumed her life as best she could. Plus everyone thought she was dead, so it was like having a fresh start on life. Taking up residence at the Felderton park, she found a cave to serve as her new home, and resumed her career of crime-fighting. She (reluctantly) joined the SuperCard program when it began because it would be especially difficult for her to hide compared to others, and one fake name later she was now an official superhero.
- Other: Lives in a pretty cool cave at the park. Has a small bee hive living on her upper back, anchored into her fur, which gives her a small supply of bees while providing a strategic honey reserve.
My thoughts exactly.
So, after a couple abortive attempts to get anything written for a character it's just not happening. Basic inspiration's there but getting any details written out is meeting with a big ol' wall of writer's block. Not just that but despite kind of narrowing in on powers I can't think of anything to write. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow, maybe I'll just give up while I'm behind.. apologies for my delaying.

...other than you deserving to be arrested by the pun police, I don't see any major problems (although some people in-universe may have the same reactions the other posters did). Accepted.
@bombadillo: Don't give up. If you need help, feel free to send me a PM with some of your ideas and I'll give my suggestions.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)But yeah, I had a male patriotic-themed unregistered hero written out, he was half-Native American with the soul of a bear, and then I saw all these requests for less dudes and less unregistereds, of which he was both, so I wanted to at least keep the bear-ness, even if I had to change everything else. I'll just save the other one for World of Heroes 4 cause I'm lazy
But that's implying he ended up where people expected him to be (just in a really roundabout manner). A more apt comparison would be he takes the path from Point A that leads to Point Applesauce

We need more chiiiiicks. Too many dudes here, even for comic books. If we don't increase the ratio of females to males, we won't get a chance to exercise the comic industry's other favorite trope.
