TV 5's website allows online streaming of the series IIRC.
Anyway, as to Episode 4: they completely flunk with how they handled the Kongou sisters. Words could not explain the enormity of the fail... *facepalm...
Sed regresso retributio. Carpe Diem. Deus lo Vult..."FU Nimation Entertainment announced
three cast members for its English dub of Kan Colle on Monday. Felecia Angelle plays Fubuki, Leah Clark plays Yuudachi, and Cherami Leigh plays Mutsuki.
Four more voice actresses
join Funi's dub cast of KanColle.
Also, good news
for Indonesian, Malaysian, Singaporean and Filipino fans: Aniplus Asia is bringing the KanColle movie to those areas. Screening dates (tentative) listed in the translated YouTube trailer below at the 1:35 mark. (It's a limited one-day screening, though...)
Doubleposting to let people know that the latest batch of translated Kancolle 4 koma is out and one of them I found extra funny because, for once, Zara is the one getting drunk.
Context: Warspite is due to arrive and Zara's still afraid of her. She joins Pola in drinking to steel her nerves, ended up drinking waaay to much and is sick all through Warspite's welcoming.
Oh, that. I really need to get back to it. Keep forgetting to check if new chapters were translated.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. And Filipino anime fans get the short end of the stick... Again...
I already had a bad feeling when I heard that the April 15 screening of A Silent Voice was cancelled
(no doubt due to the premiere date falling on a day of the Roman Catholic Holy Week
), since it would probably have a domino effect on the schedule for the KanColle film screening...
Fricking knew it...and just as I was looking forward to legally watching it, too. (Still salty from not being able to watch Arpeggio of Blue Steel: Ars Nova Cadenza in local theaters and the mediocre fansubs that came out.)
(*sighs*) I guess it's just Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 for this month.
EDIT: Barring unforeseen delays, SM Cinema has already confirmed
the May 6 premiere date for KanColle: The Movie. Screening times are at 2 PM and 5 PM.

"Learn as if you will live forever, live as if you will die tomorrow."Just got to watch the movie today. My rating is a 6/10. Not liking Fubuki is the main reason and the movie being centered around her doesn't help. I like the lore by itself. Abyssals turn into shipgirls and vice-versa is fine with me but being about Fubuki and she saving the day with her plot armor is not good
Fights were great though. Apparently Tenryuu can deflect 8inch shells with her sword Genji-style and it got cheers from the audience. I'd just like to be able to rewatch those scenes even as a gif
"If music be the food of love, PLAY ON" - William ShakespeareSpeaking of which, the movie should be released for BD on 8/30.

Only sometimes postsWhere did ya watch, Marquis?
Also returned from watching the KanColle movie and...here's some of the (spoiler-ish) highlights I can share:
- Ryuujou
finally getting a good amount of screentime with lines. Everyone in the audience was cheering during that scene (since the only appearance she had in the TV anime is that distant shot in one episode). And not just the memetically famous light flattop (*gets bombarded*), but also Tokitsukaze
(she even gets a funny, Not What It Looks Like scene with Fubuki) and Amatsukaze
. (Yay! Yui Ogura!)
- I'm glad to see Akashi there as well, though I understand why she (and the Myoko-class heavy cruisers) didn't get much chances to speak. (Get well soon, Ms. Taneda.)
- I wonder what exactly is in that tainted water that spread from Ironbottom Sound? What happens if a regular human were to touch it?
- The whole thing about "Fleet Girls coming from sunken Abyssal Ships" and "Abyssal Ships coming from sunken Fleet Girls" pretty much confirms the suspicion/wild mass guesses of some fans. (Also, holy shit, Kaga is a shipgirl who emerged from a sunken Abyssal ship.) Which does make me wonder how long this war has been going on, and perhaps the reason why the Admiral doesn't exist is because humanity is actually gone. (And if that sounds a lot like the setting of NieR: Automata, yes, I did take some inspiration from it.)
- When I saw Kisaragi's Body Horror I couldn't help but feel equal parts...horror and the desire to give her a hug. And that stinger...

"Learn as if you will live forever, live as if you will die tomorrow."Cute Monster Shipgirl? Sure, let's go with that.
Oh man, missed seeing ya there! (Watched the 2 PM screening wearing a blue polo and a button of Takao on my gray shoulder bag strap. Even got into a slight shouting match with other watchers after the movie on who's the best shipgirl... "Tsundere Heavy Cruiser!" "Wrong series!" Well, she'll always be the "Eternal Flagship of my Heart". XD)
Unless you were the guy who showed me that fanart of Yamato referencing Space Battleship Yamato 2202...in which case, good to see ya there, apologies for asking if you're someone else (long story), and...what's the source for that pic of Yamato?
- Another thing that supports the theory that the shipgirls' war may have been going on for much much longer and humanity potentially being gone is that Fubuki actually forgot which naval base she was first assigned to, can't remember her commanding admiral, and couldn't remember her divisionmates. Also, while she's with Yuudachi and Mutsuki most of the time, I do wonder how long it's been since she was assigned with light cruisers Sendai, Jintsuu and Naka? I can't help but feel there's been a considerable Time Skip between the end of the TV series and the movie.
- Also, the reveal that Kaga was once an Abyssal Ship reminded me of an h-doujin about a captured Wo-class carrier who gets rather close to one particular admiral and also happens to know his fetish for kneesocks—and it's because that particular Wo-class is actually Kaga.Doujin title

"Learn as if you will live forever, live as if you will die tomorrow."
I wouldn't call it a case of a Forever War, but even going by Akagi's dreams from the series, the cycle has been going for several iterations. I had to laugh at the Nier Automata link though, but I don't think that Humanity's gone, just not important to the Abyssal - Shipgirl cycle.
So were you able to watch it at SM Megamall? (Also, did you get my PM? I'm hoping it's not a case of PMs being slower than snail mail
.)
Also, another highlight I forgot to mention: I saw a particularly cute Fubuki cosplayer there—and someone who might be cosplaying either Bismarck or Iowa. (Didn't get a good look at the cap on her head and I was rather hesitant to approach them.)
"Learn as if you will live forever, live as if you will die tomorrow."@Incognito Ninja I watched on the 5pm showing so I dont think we met
Your mention of the shouting match reminds me of how... uh... active the audience was when I watched it. The cheering for Tenryuu, Choukai and RJ and the cherry on top, the applause when the movie ended
>forever war, didn't one of the characters, I think Nagato or Akagi said something about it can be ended? though it was very optimistic saying that just by sinking all the abyssals while no ship girl sinks then everyone is saved and war ended
>humanity gone, well the admiral practically does not exist and they even gave an excuse so he's out in the movie too
...alternatively, humanity is gone but the shipgirls are just programmed to think an admiral exists to justify continuing a war that has been ongoing for a long time
Just watched the english dub. I was surprised since I've always liked the dubs of Funimation but this one was just bad. The only ones I liked were Kongou, Sendai and Akagi. Everyone else was either meh or horrible. As a sample, they removed Atago's "panpakapan"
"If music be the food of love, PLAY ON" - William ShakespeareLemme guess...they removed Yuudachi's "~poi" as well? (Or did they go with the Valley Girl-ish "like"?)
Also, a rather late reply to your older post:
Makes me wonder if there's anyone in the audience who had the balls (or the moolah) to buy TWO tickets for both the 2 PM and 5 PM screenings. (If there was... o7 )
The cheering was also loud during the scenes with Kaga and Zuikaku (which were practically dripping with Unresolved Sexual Tension). With one of the scenes being the reveal that Kaga was once a sunken Abyssal.
"Learn as if you will live forever, live as if you will die tomorrow."

In any case, better leave 'Burning Love' as in English, but do it with the right amount of energy.
