To be fair Anno, I don't think he ever mentioned his mecha was Satan. Plus there's various interpretations as to how the guy looks, so unless he clearly stated his mecha was supposed to look like Satan that (the mecha being modeled in its image) can't really be used as a valid reason to deny his mecha. Just saying, you're the GM and what you say is law.
Since spontaneously created balled energy is allowed and Gunbuster is the most supery a mecha can get for this, any supery aspects that are clearly disallowed that aren't instant super-killing things by nature? Additionally, can anyone provide me a series or site for reviewing Real and Super Robot designs?

"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."Strigon, I encourage you to actually read the RP Rules thread before making that sort of post again. More specifically this bit:
It's not necessarily spontaneously created; it's probably best described as plasma generated in the shape of a ball. Why hit it with a bat? That's just the character being a fangirl. As for 'how does it have so much energy-related stuff in it', that's kind of why she's probably not been reprimanded for basing the design off of some old anime she found.
How does the hand generate and contain the plasma ball? Could it just crush mecha heads in its hand and then plasma them on the spot instead of being all baseball?
Anyways, I'm somewhat unsure of my mecha but figured I would go for some lasering and electric stuff. I'll probably use various images to describe my mecha's appearance, though I do have another idea...
"Basically, mix this
and this
mostly in the waist/leg areas. Seriously, them sticks! In general, its just a visual mixture of the two. So, got that mental image figured out? From there, I imagine the shield arm of the original R.U.D.O (the first link) with something like this
◊ for the hand area. Like its the top half, though not the actual hand. Really, I just used that as a visual image. From there, R.U.D.O would have an actual left arm with the shield being more like "armor". The shield can slide forward, basically becoming a giant blocky sword.
Regarding the right arm, its basically the same. Though those stick legs for the original image of R.U.D.O? Those would be swords/spikes positioned on the back, which can come off and be used by either hand. Speaking of, R.U.D.O's claw hand can kind of "shrink" with part of the forearm sliding back to serve as armor for the other half of the arm. The claws in question pull back so that the hand/fingers would be small enough to use weapons like those spike-swords on its back.
Assuming your mental image of the new R.U.D.O has bent angles like the original one, that's for basically giving it a super jump. Not much else going on there, besides a pretty nasty kick I suppose and very small grade boosters so it doesn't touch the ground. In fact, the spike-swords on its back are boosters themselves. So not only when they're equipped R.U.D.O can slide about the battlefield without touching the ground, they serve well for making things explode.
The shield arm can no longer be fired, though instead its now host to a number of laser/energy tech. With the shield slided back, it can work in part with the Gespenst arm thing to fire a very powerful laser that takes quite a bit to charge up. It also goes into a cooldown, so its not really spammable. By the hand itself, the three pegs can either shoot weak rapid shots or charge up a stronger shot between them. Regarding the hand, its basically a smaller version of the right one. If the shield is slided back, the entire arm can generate and hold energy long enough to coat it to empower its attacks. Besides that, the shield can generate an energy shield and when slided forward can add an energy coating along with a small range increase to improve its cutting power. It wouldn't be powerful enough to cleave through things like hot butter though.
Both hands are tough, though the right has a wire that extends about seventy-five feet and it can be shot off with limited amount of manipulation of the wire. When the right hand is fully activated, it would be big enough to crush objects a bit more than the size of its head. Finally, the claws of the right hand can be pinched together and charge up a laser. It'll de-energize the claws, lowering its power until the energy is regenerated."
Its just an idea, but I wanted to know if at least some elements of it would be okay to use.

"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."I figured you could combine the grapple plasmaing with the arm poles for even more destruction, but I guess that wouldn't add a lot more. Either way, any opinions on the mecha thing I just put up?
"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."Basically, it has low-grade boosters in its feet letting it float off the ground and two spike-sword boosters which are attached to the back originally. The boosters serve to let it grace the battleground, and its left arm has a giant shield which can slide forward to be a giant block sword. The left arm can also coat itself in energy, basically perform Jet Magnum, and fire three forms of energy projectiles. The ones shot from the prongs are the weakest but faster, the charged shot between the prongs isn't much of an improvement, and the strongest shot requires it to be in shield mode and takes a while to ready. It then has a long cooldown, and the energy coating can also be discharged from the hand as a very powerful but very short-ranged projectile that's more likely to blow off 40% of its body than anything else.
The spike-sword boosters can cause small explosions when activated in something, and the energy coating can length the left arm's sword mode a bit. It doesn't add a lot of damage though. The right hand has a massive claw hand, and is attached to a length of cable. It can be fired off and reeled back in, and a lot of the claw's power comes from energy. Said energy can be used to fire off a rather weak laser beam, and that takes at least five minutes to recharge.
It probably won't work though, and I'll certainly won't defend its inclusion if Anno says no.
All you really need to do is check the links. Mix the leg/waist area for the first two, put the legs of the first on its back, give it something resembling the Gundam's arm mixed with the first picture for its left arm, and the Gespent thing is basically glued to the top of its left hand if that helps. That and it has bent legs kind of like the first picture for super jumps.

"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."Is its visual appearance the only problem? I could rework that if so. Would it be easier to visualize if I said its basically that Gundam (second link) but less blocky, with bendable knees, a claw right hand, and two removable back spikes with three prongs sticking out of its left wrist?
"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."- Name: Cornelius Hawking
- Age: Seventeen
- Gender: Male
- Appearance: "Hpmm,
◊ don't get in my way now.
." The voice in the second link is pretty much what he sounds like. The character model was made from God Eater Burst just so you know.
- Personality: Basically, he's a spoiled rich kid who views himself as better than others. He solicits with others mainly so he can subtly mock or insult them, but beyond that he's a pretty nice guy. He's hard to actually anger, and if he considers you amusing enough or to be his friend he'll fake an angry voice along with some silly responses. While he generally hangs out with others just to subtly mock or insult them, he is occasionally intrigued by others that he wants to know more. He's also not one to reject invitations or anything of the like unless he truly has something better to do, and isn't too concerned about working hard.
- History:
- Mechanical Frame:
- Appearance: Basically, mix this
and this
mostly in the waist/leg/left arm areas. The legs of the first post are positioned on the back, and the left hand has the Gespenst plasma stake thing going on. If that's too hard to imagine, then imagine as the Gundam but less blocky with bendable knees, a claw right hand, two removable spikes on its back and three prongs sticking out of its left wrist.
- Weaponry:
I figure I need approval on the personality before I start making his history.
"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."I like how basic mecha history is a long-winded rant about arbitrary criteria. Well, I guess it is, considering the whole super robots/real robots thing, such as it is. I really do enjoy discussing mecha with people, it's a fun genre. You really should check out Votoms, one of the best mecha anime ever made.
Also I don't think I ever got a proper in-universe explanation as to why a military would deny something evil-looking in an all-out war, mostly just "It's Satan!" from an OOC perspective. That's all I want, really, a reasonable explanation as to why a military's cool with a glorified knight or an anime mecha, but not something that might actually serve a purpose. It's even justified by my character being a socially stunted nerd taking stuff from everything he thinks is cool.
I'll just leave, though. I mean once you get into a bitchfight with a GM over perceived flaws in their world, real or imaginary, things tend to go not so well in the roleplay. Especially if they're friends with a mod. No offense to anyone I used as examples, problem wasn't really with your characters, just that they'd get passed while mine is arbitrarily denied. But uh, I'd like to point this bit out: "According to Moerin (I am bad with the sprites this is drawn from)". So, that means you get your Gunbuster stuff, integral to your character, from someone else who is going by Super Robot Wars sprites?
"incomprehensible metallic droning"No, I am in fact a huge fan of Gunbuster and know what I'm talking about. She was just going by the SRW sprites. Read what she's actually saying.
Look, by the looks of it this just isn't the RP for you, okay? Why won't you just accept that this isn't VOTOMS and just... I dunno, just drop it at least. We don't want a huge argument all over the signups. Also, it wasn't arbitrary, even if you refuse to admit it.

@Z 3 R 0 H 3 X: The GM has made her decision, and the answer is no. Posting long-winded rants about arbitrary criteria is not likely to get that overturned.
"Yup. That tasted purple."
