If there is one, I claim Mokou far, far, far in advance.

... Mokou is mine and I will not let anyone else take her. >.<

Was digging through some old stuff and stumbled across one of my old ideas: There's a world that goes through a bunch of ages, each one carrying the traits of a certain genre, and the PCs are time travellers. That's about as far as I got, though... It was kinda like Final Fantasy XIII 2 meets Live A Live.

So here's three rather ambitious ideas I've had for months now.

1). A kind of cross between Total War and Game Of Thrones. It would take place in a vast world, inhabited by numerous cultures. Nearly all of the world had been united under one vast Empire by a great conqueror a long time ago. Since that time, his descendants ruled the land as Emperor, maintaining an age of peace. Yet conquest could not erase the nations' old grievances, nor quell the stirring of political ambition.

And so the story begins in the present day, within an old and noticeably creaky dynasty. The current Emperor is but a shadow of his glorious ancestors, and his power slips from his hands each day. Conflicts between the lords of the land grow increasingly frequent as their power expands and the seams of a once great kingdom look to rip at any moment.

The Player characters would be one of these noble lords, or possibly a general serving under one. They would rule their land and people, issuing edicts, fighting wars and guiding their faction's fate, either to defend the status quo or carve out an Empire for themselves.

Such a setup could take some work, but would undoubtedly be epic if pulled off right.

2). Somewhat similar to the above, except you play as one of the wealthy families of a democratic city state which has recently overthrown its previous tyrant. Specifically, it is a Republican Oligarchy, like a medieval fantasy Rome, with the richest, most powerful families voting on public policy.

In essence, it would be a game about contributing to the city, expanding its influence, developing its land and defending or conquering for it in war. At the same time, it will also be about expanding the influence and power of your own family and dealing with whatever friction that may give you with other families.

3). A more straightforward adventure story, akin to The Hobbit. Basically, a group of adventurers cross a vast land in search of a lost treasure, passing through numerous exotic locales and meeting various challenges. Would largely be a character-driven affair.

I had considered trying to run one of these things myself, but I am not certain of my ability to consistently run such a project, so I will simply leave these for the consideration of whoever may be interested.

I wonder if someone could do an anime-styled multi-genre RP in the vein of Big Eyes Small Mouth? I'd like to see an urban fantasy RP like that.

Alternately, I'd like to play in a Fallout New Vegas RP that someone GM's, the idea being a Wide-Open Sandbox RP set within the timeline of the main game, and I'd like Caesar's Legion to be less obviously evil and the NCR to be more morally questionable. Give these factions more depth and characterization than "Super-Evil Romans vs. Heroic American Cowboys!".

[up][up] First one looks awesome.

[up] To be fair, there were a cut subplot where the legion would be shown in a more positive light. I think there land were more secure than the NCR's, too.

I was thinking how neat a Wrong Man in the Right Place RP would be. Like, someone gets mistaken for somebody else that's part of a great prophecy, and is therefore stuck doing the aforementioned Chosen One's work for him.

An RP set during the colonization of the Americas by the various European powers that focuses on a small native american/south american tribe (the player characters being a member of such a tribe), making decisions as to whether to join with the europeans, fight back, trade, flee etc.

Maybe over several generations, as they gradually head west?

Since my RP idea, the one where you play someone else's character, was a bust, I'm-a go ahead and start a quest thread in the games section and stuff in the same setting.

So now you all will play my characters! HAHAHA

Um... I'm going to be honest and say that, um...

Honestly I think that had a lot to do with your execution. To be fair, um, unless I could really be sure about what character I was getting and who would be getting my character it's not very likely I would join, but... it was a really interesting idea. But the execution kind of, um... it was an overdeveloped(for the purposes of this RP, developed settings are just fine in other RP's) setting with overdeveloped characters put up for playing.

Something like that needs a simple setting and character bios that aren't overdone so players have room to work.

Hnnn, you could be right.

So, that still leave me with a setting I want to play with and an ability to draw to play it out via a quest thread.

I might retry the RP idea with a different setting some time.

@God of Awesome:

I wasn't involved in that game, but TBH I don't think there is such a thing as an "overdeveloped" setting. A developed setting is a lush setting is a setting ripe for adventure and plot hooks (and it helps avoid awkward moments where you go "Oh bugger, how would this go?/what is this place like?" etc.). The only real way a good fleshed out setting can be "bad" is if you infodump, and that's at least somewhat easy to remedy.

A more straightforward adventure story, akin to The Hobbit. Basically, a group of adventurers cross a vast land in search of a lost treasure, passing through numerous exotic locales and meeting various challenges. Would largely be a character-driven affair.

Though I'd be too busy currently to join if someone did it, I like this idea (the likening to The Hobbit is what caught my attention).

A WAAPT spinoff or sorts.

Basically in the future of the WAAP Tverse the J-Team has been disassembled. For some Arceus knows reason, it's prudent that some of it's former members seek out new recruits for the next generation of the J-Team. Hilarity and mayhem ensues.
