Well, despite what my last post may have implied, I was actually intending to post last night here. But it wasn't long after I sent that post that I started hanging out with friends, and by the time that was done it was too late to make any real posts.

As for tonight, I'm unfortunately feeling writer's block. I will try to post here at least before I go to bed though. In the meantime...

Work schedule copy-paste: Once again a six day week, and worse off is that the only day I've got off is the one I know I'm probably going to spend a lot of time hanging out with friends, since it's Friday.

Also, Tuesday and Wednesday are early shifts, so as usual expect me gone much earlier than usual the previous days but consequently probably on earlier than usual those two work days. Every other day is around my usual work hours.

Here in TF2 MvM you can probably expect things to remain somewhat slow. (same for BHoTA) I'm kinda hoping that with such things as "Christmas present shopping", and "visiting relatives/having relatives visit", that things being slow will work out for everyone anyway. tongue

@Troy: I'm not sure if you're having Spencer confused on purpose or if you're confused, but in case it's the latter: The carrier outside of your base(s) is disabled; it's not going to be making any robots any time soon.

The problem is there's other carriers attacking other bases.

Anyway, my apologies but no main post will be coming from me today; kinda busy and consolidating what time I've got. I'm giving myself tomorrow off, for hopefully obvious reasons. tongue I've got an early (though kinda long) shift on Thursday, after which I'll try to post and move things along finally. I also have my usual work shifts on Friday and Saturday so you guys know.

Yeah, sorry. I got home from work yesterday with too much sleep deprivation and writer's block hitting me to post. Now I have good news and bad news when it comes to me posting today.

The bad news is that this is just a drop in before work post, and on top of that the weekly game night with friends tonight is supposed to be happening like, immediately after I get back from work.

The good news though is that my participation this week isn't actually necessary, and while I'll be there to listen in I don't have to actually do anything; so I'll be taking that time to instead work on posting, with this RP on priority.

Now of course, it's a little hard for me to concentrate on writing something while listening to something else, so it may still be pretty darn late tonight by the time I post.

EDIT: I was mistaken, tonight's session is still involving my participation after all.

@Strat: Again for the record, if your characters die right now it's not that they'll die for good; it's just that they'll respawn inconveniently far away and backtracked on the way they came. (Read: They'll effectively be out for the rest of the fight, but not for the rest of the RP.) Anyway, I was just spending today killing time and waiting to let people post. Since I'm still kinda waiting on people to post, I'll see about getting one up sometime tomorrow. In the meantime...

Week schedule copy paste: My other friends who've also been wanting to run game nights finally got set times of the week for that worked out, so in addition to Friday nights I've also got stuff planned to happen Monday and Tuesday nights. On the plus side for my posting time though, I'm only working Saturday and Sunday this week, plus an early shift on Thursday.

So, just to be clear, the player character Medics do not have the ability to summon a giant energy shield and resurrect the dead, right?

@Gameknight: They do not. Gameplay-wise, this RP is more based on the default RED vs. BLU TF2 than the actual MvM mode, just with MvM enemies standing in, including the occasional giant or tank. (And later on there will be other enemies as well, not just the robots for the entire RP.)

Anyway, I intend to post today, and by that I mean before I go to bed at least; I'm not actually sure how soon I'll get to posting here.

Well, so much for my intention to post yesterday.

Not even much I can blame on that one. I mean I did have that time hanging out with friends, but even after that was over I just forgot. My bad.

Whoops, time that was meant to just be waiting to give Troy and/or Nman a chance to post got extended by unexpected distractions yesterday. (Coupled with just a smidge of forgetfulness on my part, again.)

Gonna see about getting a post in shortly, just need to check a few things first.

EDIT: Well, I say shortly then get caught up in a skype discussion for an hour, jheesh. Working on the post now.

Currently waiting to let more people than just Paladin act. Though speaking of...

@Gameknight: Paladin's crossbow does damage based on distance, yes, but it still has an upper limit. It's enough to 1-hit-kill fast targets, but not any higher, which in this current scenario means only the scout robots. I apologize that I forgot to convey that sooner.

Also, work schedule copy-paste: Plans with friends are now holding steady on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. In addition I have work on Tuesday, (So I may not be posting at all that day.) Saturday, and an early shift on Thursday.

@Gameknight: No, but their health is not exactly the same as default TF2 sniper health, because of the differences between that and the way I have the slow/medium/fast health rules. (Also, even if your weapon existed in TF2, it would do 124.5 damage per hit at max range. If TF2 calculates exactly or rounds to the nearest whole number, it still wouldn't kill full health snipers. Only if it rounds up would it kill full health snipers.)

@Troy: There's things called justification and narrative timing I'm not sure you fully get. tongue But thanks for giving me an idea for a future encounter. evil grin

Anyway, sorry guys but I'm hitting that selective writer's block wall here again, and I don't think I'll be getting through it before hanging out with friends starts later. I'll try to post after that's over, later tonight.

Alright. How much health do they have? Because if the only have 130 or sonething RDS can still kill them. Unless we're playing with that off.

Flawless logic, right, Firock?

gameknight102xx Since: Aug, 2011

So how much of TF 2 is in this RP?

For example, certain projectiles such as arrows, pomfson lasers and rescue ranger bolts allow you to score direct hits while aiming several feet to the left of the enemy.

Stairs were not invented until Abraham Lincoln's time, and people got around by rocket jumping.

And all Scouts have live doves sewn into the ribcages.

#245: Jan 7th 2014 at 8:51:32 PM

@Bean: That would mean giving the ability to reflect projectiles to classes besides pyro, (and engi by technicality) so I'm going to say no.

(Also in case there was any doubt, she hasn't actually been under the effects of BONK this whole time. That would require actually having the BONK item, which she doesn't. What she drank was just soda; it did not contain the necessary radiation.)

@Gameknight-

1: Most certainly not. The reason I'm having you guys miss occasionally is because there's no way in hell I'm giving you 100% flawless accuracy. Besides, if everyone was flawlessly accurate even at long range, then the sniper class would be pointless in this RP.

2: I'm just gonna leave that ambiguous, seeing as that was long before the RP and different historical accounts could say different things. tongue

3: That was a specific joke tied to a specific video about the canon Medic's incompetence, that wasn't even guaranteed to come up and didn't stay permanently; so it doesn't work as well here. If bean wants to say whether or not there's a bird stuck in Sandy's chest, that's up to him.

Anyway, while I was able to grab the time to stop in here and make this post, I'm gonna say now that I probably won't be posting in the main thread tonight.

I never said anything about 100% accuracy, but a maybe a funny little aside about how a Sniper-bot is confused as to how its arrows somehow can hit our guys while clearly missing them. Or trying to sidestep someone's arrow and getting hit anyway.

Yeah, it's up to Bean. But Archimedes is still in Scout's chest to this day. It's a 1/100 chance apparently, though it feels like a lot less.

How can Archimedes still be in Scout's chest if the Medic can carry him on his shoulder?

Same reason you can have a Zombie Archimedes and an Archimedes worn by two different medics on the same team.

Or an Archimedes and a bird-head on the same Medic.

Because Gaben said so.

Well nuts, I should have posted yesterday, but after some unexpected distractions, I somehow came under the impression that fewer of you guys had posted than actually had, and figured I should wait until more people posted. Whoops.

Then I meant to get a post in sooner today, but was unexpectedly invited to hang out with friends pretty much as soon as I got back from work. Anyway, gonna start working on a post now, should hopefully be up soon.
