Clouds gather, there is a clap of thunder, and Fate smiles slightly.

"We can handle what is true, for we are already living it."Meanwhile, at the edge of the Arena, too far away to be seen, a large robotic head juts itself out from the under the sand, hiding itself in the dunes. Its face is covered in a small green visor, and it silently watches the group from afar.
The visor flips up, revealing another metal visor underneath, which extends into a small telescope, and it scans the fighters using an infrared sight, before disappearing again into the dune.
pffft hahahahahahahahahhhaahhahaha noCue the Tumbleweed.
...ate? ...ate? ...in...
Fa... you've go... get outta there... dimensional tremor...have to leave, now!
Unstable Instant Runes start appearing near Fate, energy crackling between them.

"We can handle what is true, for we are already living it."Fate doesn't answer, seemingly distracted.
Captain Lindy? Nanoha? Chrono?
...can...ear...?
Nanoha?!
Fate! There's a dimensional tremor forming between you and us! It won't hit you directly, but if you don't get out of there right now, we'll lose track of you, and with the inherent instability of that Arena dimension, we don't know when we'd be able to get you back!
Hold on. I'm on my way.
Fate holds up her hand, summoning her own magic seal of golden Instant Runes, which succeeds in mostly stabilizing the portal. She hastily steps through, and the unstable portal collapses inwards and detonates as soon as she's through.
Gotta go now, early morning tomorrow. Night.
"We can handle what is true, for we are already living it."The head sticks itself back up again, this time raising itself slightly higher from the sand, and the telescope zooms in onto Fate in particular, or more, the "dimensional tremor" happening all around her.
Suddenly, the robotic face contorts and stretches, with the faint sound of folding mechanical parts, with the telescope... telescoping even further, until it resembles a giant sniper rifle-howitzer hybrid strapped onto somebody's face. Not that anyone can see it, anyway, given how far away it is.
...Then Fate vanishes, leaving the head slightly confused, but still relatively unfazed. After a pause, it slowly turns to face the remaining two.
The face-gun lines up a good shot... and waits for the perfect moment.
pffft hahahahahahahahahhhaahhahaha noThe "dimensional tremor" was offscreen, supposedly between the Cool Starship and the Arena, which is why they had to pull her out. The unstable bullshit was them trying to get a portal through, and barely succeeding.
Also, good night for real now.
"We can handle what is true, for we are already living it."Even though the sound of Simon's remark should logically not be heard, the assassin saw enough to know that they are aware of his presence.
He keeps his stoic coolness, however, and calmly lines up a perfect shot with his face-sniper, and without any delay, he sends a sniper round the size of a tank shell barrelling straight towards Simon, before vanishing again into the dunes.
@Micool: Just assume he saw the Instant Runes and guessed something was up. Anyway, goodnight.

pffft hahahahahahahahahhhaahhahaha noAfter the failed attempt at sniping Simon, the assassin seems to have disappeared...
Suddenly, the sandy ground near the duo's left side goes up in an explosion, creating a large smokescreen to mask their vision.
The faint sound of heavy footsteps can be barely made out over the din, and it seems to be getting louder and closer...

pffft hahahahahahahahahhhaahhahaha no

Fortunate. I have much worse.
In loving memory of that plot arc that we spent nearly a year on. Now our sun may never set.
