How can I word them as attempts if they automatically happen? F's device allows him to make things obey the laws of physics and reality.
The Bear's buckshot ineffectively bounces off of F's heavy armor plating, it does however force the Mechatank to turn his attention towards the Terminator Bear and shoot at it with his Autocannon.

Foolish donkey, you would not be able to resist me if I wished your annihilation.Alright, I see. Forgive me for jumping to conclusions. Although this is the Arena, and a lot of things are allowed to happen...
The woman then starts muttering something under her breath, making a rune appear below her.

If you're forcing someone to play by your rules, wouldn't that be a bit unfair for all magic users, and not just reality warpers? You seem to try to predetermine what and who should defeat F in that way, and that's a bit of cheaty. At least in my viewpoint.
The rune starts to glow a bright blue, and the woman is still chanting quietly.

Exactly. In an ironic twist to make reality warpers play by his rules, F's device is also warping the reality of this dimension. The reality that allows magic to happen, and not just normalcy.
The rune then suddenly disappears, and the woman turns towards the Bear Terminator, gazing at it expectantly.

Creator of the Avatar Arena and its Discord server.F's heightened senses and battle-hardened instinct causes him to see the grenade coming and he quickly reverses to ensure that the grenade doesn't blow up his much thinner bottom hull armor. While the nade doesn't blow up beneath him, the cloud of dust and smoke it kicked up however distracts the mechatank long enough to keep him from shooting up the Terminator Bear.

Foolish donkey, you would not be able to resist me if I wished your annihilation. That sort of gives me a headache, though it's true. I mean, though a device like that could exist in the arena, it would immediately shut down because it's stopping itself from warping reality, which is what it was meant to do- stop Reality Warpers, including itself. It would work too well.
Still doesn't answer my question. How does it work?

Not really. And what you guys said is true, it counteracts reality warping with reality warping of its own. Or in simpler terms, it is a reality unwarper, forcing things to remain normal. Obviously this means that it's useless against anyone who can simply tear F apart physically, shoot him with a big enough gun or use magic against him indirectly: Like causing a sinkhole to appear underneath him, cause a bolt of lightning to strike him down from the sky, make him slip and slide on frozen ground or use a windstorm to batter him with debris.
BTW, his device is called the Fate Alteration Engine

Foolish donkey, you would not be able to resist me if I wished your annihilation. So it counteracts all types of magic? Like arcane bolts, plasma bolts, and the like and force you to use guns and other normal attacks instead? That's a bit unfair, isn't it?
The woman then starts channeling an Arcane Barrage.

Creator of the Avatar Arena and its Discord server.I guess. But as long as the FAE is intact (which is rather easy to damage), F can't be harmed with magic that directly harms or affects him like light beams, shadow blasts, fireballs and the like.

Tactical autohit, anyway.
