A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

Okay, now that I've got all the stuff I need translated badly taken care of, it's time to work on the characters. Dark, to respond to what you said last night, Kegi and Story are right. I will be making new characters based on the names that I got.
Free Time- a Brilliant, but Lazy unicorn studying in the resort town of Canterlot, specializing in time spells. She doesn't have many friends because she feels putting effort into making them is a waste of her time and energy. That changes, of course.
Menu- a unicorn waitress in the small town of Hair Models. Has an excellent memory, excellent manners and a bit too much arrogance. She's still friendly to everyone though, and she's quickly making the restaurant she works at the most popular one in town.
Noodles- an earth pony chef, specializing in pastas (of course). Wants to make the best pasta in the world, and runs her own small restaurant to earn money to fulfill her dream. She's also a rather silly pony (this is what Pinkie Pie got translated to, after all).
Script- a cinema enthusiast and amateur writer pegasus, wants to star in the upcoming remake of Screwed (frequently considered a B movie by everypony else, though she thinks of it as a masterpiece). I'm debating whether to have her go Painting the Medium. Also a bit of a Large Ham.
White Eyes- an oracular pegasus and Mysterious Waif. No one knows much about her and everypony finds her a bit creepy. Her predictions often say that Vagueness Is Coming, but otherwise she's very direct.
Calvados- a brewer/wine maker and possibly alcoholic earth pony living at Sweet Apple Acres with her granny and two brothers. She is refined, fashionable and suave. Always eager to have a glass or two (or three, or four...) with her friends and chat about local happenings.
Obviously these all need work, but how does it sound so far?
http://h0useb0und.tumblr.com/From what I've heard, apparently the 4th Transformers movie is actually pretty good and is mainly hated by critics just because it's Michal Bay {Which, to be fair, literally seems to be the only reason why they hate it}. The human characters aren't annoying and the Autobots have actual personality's this time as well as actual focus. I'm just going off of what other TF Fans have told me since I haven't seen it yet, but it doesn't sound anywhere near as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It actually sounds way better then all 3 of the first 3 movies IMO.

-sighs- I don't know. Critics seemed to like Pain and Gain, a movie which made me started to like Bay a little bit more.

Are you sure about that? Last I checked, critics hated that movie. I've learnt over time not to listen to any of them {Though I still like Red Letter Media's stuff}. Heck I didn't even like Roger Ebert that much due to his ignorant and borderline-idiotic review on the first Godzilla movie and his especially ignorant view on video games.

Well, in terms of Pain and Gain, critics said it was bad, better than the Transformer sequels. Honestly, it's the kind of movie that I want Michael Bay to direct....speaking of which, did any of you like The Island?
https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615qFrom what I've heard, the Transformers movie is pretty rife with Critical Dissonance; critics don't like the fact that it's mostly robot-punching action, while audiences think it's an improvement precisely because it focuses more on the robot-punching action. And also it doesn't have Shia Le Bouf.
Re: Weird Al video: That was awesome, although "Jack Black twerking" is something that I have never wanted to witness.

Whoa...that was TWERKING?! Oh Lord.
Part of me wants to see that movie...part of me wants to have a life.
Fun fact: The new Transformers movie has a pony reference in it.

I don't know. I stopped caring after the 2nd one came out.
It kinda depends on what you're looking for. Ubuntu Gnome is good and standard, Elementary OS has better aesthetics, Debian based systems are more stable but restricted to older software, Peppermint OS has great cloud integration, Steam OS is designed for gaming... I'd start by looking into Ubuntu and Linux Mint.

This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...-_- once again, I've applied for a state job and received an email informing me that no one will look at my application because too many people applied. Frankly I'm sick and tired of this. If I spend 10 minutes to send in an application, I want someone to take 2 minutes of their time to look at it before telling me they won't hire me. This isn't about getting the job, it's about getting a fair shot at it.
This time I've actually sent an email back about it. Hopefully someone will look at it.

To be fair about MB, he acknowledges his movies aren't meant to b critical successes and they're popcorn block busters because that's the kind of movie he likes. No he's not a great director, but if nothing else he's sincere in his enthusiasm and aware of his large hatedom. I can respect that.
