A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayOkay, chapter is done. It's kind of short but at least it's advancing the plot.
http://h0useb0und.tumblr.com/Call me privileged on the matter, but I don't think Pity is something to aspire to.
Regardless, it's getting a bit dour in here, hmm? Let's think about something a bit more cheerful...
Season 5 is supposed to have an episode about the loss of the Library, which is a bit saddening, but I find myself wondering how they'll offset it? Lessons about loss aren't terrible, but in this context Twilight can move on, so I wonder how they'll deal with that? Her getting used to the new castle? Trying to find copies of her old books, but settling on getting some new ones instead(Possibly ponies from around town donating books for a 'new' library)?
Come to think of it, Twilight would be the sort who'd want the castle to be as public as possible, so converting part of it into a public library might make for a fun plot itself. Trying to get something like that started, perhaps finding a rather... limited amount of books to pull from at first.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.@Marq: I have no idea. You could stick a lot of stuff there and it would work. Pretty much any generic phrase involving "friendship" could work. Like "Friendship Adventures" or something.
Also, can we not turn the thread into a pity party? I'm aware that life can suck sometimes, but it has a tendency to snowball and make everybody end up feeling worse. I totally understand the desire to vent, but sometimes it feels like the "X horrible thing is going on in my life" posts make up as much of this thread as ponies do, and I doubt that they really make things much better anyway.

Reaction Image RepositoryCan you pm it to me please?
Anyway, looks like Irish Zombie is up next.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play@Kegisak: She could loot all the books from Celestia and Luna's old castle. That would make for a good start. And it's not like a lot of ponies really used the library as a library anyway.
Reaction Image RepositoryBasically, something that's gone forever.
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...Well I won my first game of Humans vs Zombies today and it's the weekend now.
Oh and I found a new D&D group that's starting tomorrow.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayMy idea as a joke is that Twi uses a time spell to periodically read her books at night when her other self is sleeping, with Spike being freaked out one night getting a midnight snack when he sees her older self as an alicorn. She casually explains that the library will get blown up one day, so she's just doing some light reading in the past.
It's why he was asleep and out of the way when she was using the cm spell and when Tirek was attacking. He knows things will turn out alright, and follows her advice to just not worry about it.
I hope they don't. It introduces too many plot holes and cheapens the impact.

Hence the "as a joke".
Thought Twilight does seem like the type to have copies. If anything will freak her out, it's her first editions.
Reaction Image RepositoryHere's the current list of who's signed up, but I don't see Irish Zombie here right now. Who wants to go next? Is Applelight ready?

Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayI dunno, I kinda feel like Twilight would feel equally bad about any book being lost.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.I dunno; her love for books as an object seems to be a bit exaggerated by the fandom. She seems to care more about the books in terms of the information they contain rather than for their own sake. If she liked the books themselves, she wouldn't treat her books nearly as roughly as she does in the show. That's why I think first editions would bother her more than others. If another book gets wrecked, big deal, she finds another copy. First edition, finding another one will be hard. Really, the worst thing she lost is probably her notes.
Reaction Image RepositoryWell, that's kinda what I was thinking though: Each book lost is one vessel of that knowledge lost. Maybe it's just me, but I don't see a First Edition as being really special over other copies except in a kind of arbitrary way.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.Geez, lotta sad going on in here.
Yeesh, it looks like the next few days will consist of me looking forward to trailers.

What is this, a contest?
Not that I don't sympathize with your situation, Star, but you need to put things in perspective. I'll leave it at that because if I say everything that's on my mind right now, I'll get thumped but HARD.
