A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

I've been searching for a job for a while now. Nothing's panned out yet, but today I heard back from one of the jobs I applied to, and this really takes the cake.
The job in question is essentially a bookkeeping job that keeps track of inventory moving between company locations. It's part time, $16 an hour. I only really applied to it because I fit all the qualifications (hell, it didn't even require a degree, just a high school education) and because I might as well try to have some source of income while I look for a real job.
I was called today by the people who posted the job. We talked a bit about the job details, and my qualifications for it, when they said this (paraphrased):
Them: "So, how much experience do you have with keeping track of inventory and shipping?"
Me: "Well, I have experience performing the annual inventory for a hospital."
Them: "Is that so? Well, we're looking for someone (they actually said this) with a few years' experience with inventory and shipping."
The call ended shortly thereafter.
They want a few years' experience. For a part-time job that doesn't even require a degree. And only pays $16 an hour. And only lasts about half a year.
This is the stupidest thing I've heard yet on this hunt.

"We're looking for someone who's gullible enough to take our unreasonable demands at face value and desperate enough to take a pay cut because he doesn't "meet" them".
Or, alternatively,
"We don't like you, but rather than risk you claiming discrimination or challenging our decision in any way we're going to invent a requirement you don't meet so we have an out on you."
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.Just to nitpick, $16 an hour isn't too bad for me, unless you're talking like Canadian dollars or something. I only make a little over $8.
Reaction Image RepositoryCND is sitting pretty good on the world stage now, actually. Actually slightly above the USD.
And minimum, depending where you are in the country, is anywhere from like, 9-12 CND per hour. I think I make around $11.75, myself.

Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.Still, asking for multiple years experience for a job that doesn't even require a college degree sounds silly.

I have no experience with this 'job' thing you speak of, being still in highschool.

"Moody Stops Bicycle Theft, Takes No Prisoners"- Harry Potter and the Natural 20Yeah, requiring years of experience for something like that is dumb, I just thought that $16 an hour is honestly pretty good. That's almost twice what I'm making right now.
Reaction Image RepositoryI was looking around Equestria Gaming, and found this.
Twilight Sparkles Secret Shipfic Folder
Yeah, we actually have trope page on it.
IT sounds like a lot of fun, though it'd be difficult to find people to play it with, I should think.

I just wish that Zecora showed up more often. I don't really care much about her origin, but she needs more screentime.
