A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

What does the connection status show up as? Is it detecting the network? Does it say you're connected?
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play@Ike: How old is your router? I remember a few years ago when I got a new laptop that it wouldn't connect, and it turned out that the router needed a firmware update because the comp wasn't fully compatible with the earlier version.
Reaction Image RepositoryI'm not sure how old it is. But I do know my brother has a newer laptop with windows 8 and it works just fine. If we really need a new modem, that sucks.
http://h0useb0und.tumblr.com/Is there any other programs you have that connect to the internet? Try using those, to make sure it isn't just a problem with IE.
Your IP address is your computer's unique address on the web. If its saying that something is wrong with the router, you might have to call the company that distributed it to you, or fix it some other way.

already tried that.
Okay, I've reset the modem and re-diagnosed the connection issue. It says "Wi-Fi doesn't have a valid IP configuration." What does that mean?

okay, well it's not saying something is wrong with the router. It says something is wrong with the IP address. So, now what?
Here is a site that has a solution to the problem.
If you can't bring it up on whatever your using to connect to the internet now, I'll post the instructions.
And by router I mean modem. Referring to the same thing.

"Moody Stops Bicycle Theft, Takes No Prisoners"- Harry Potter and the Natural 20Losing internet is the worst, because it makes it much harder to look up help.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayThe internet is just another utility nowadays like electricity and water.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayI recently discovered that I had the first Final Fantasy game on my iPhone. I decided to go with a fighter, a thief, a red mage, and a black mage.
It's either 1000 or 1024, depending on whether you're talking about memory or harddrives. The fact that the same abbreviations are used for different numbers is really annoying and a persistent source of confusion.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play^^ Neat. I've been replaying FFV on mine.
I screwed up last night, though. I saved state the instant before encountering the Gil Turtle, a random encounter boss that can't be fled from, hits hard enough with his regular attack to one-shot anyone in my party, absorbs any element other than Ice, and has crazy high defense.
And naturally, I just happen to have a completely horrible team setup for fighting him at the moment. My options are to either try and whittle down his 57k health 1k at a time with my Blue Mage's 1000 Needles spell while my Summoner spams Golem to eat all his attacks, my White Mage spams defensive spells to prolong Golem's effect, and my Ninja does absolutely nothing because she's equipping weapons that deal elemental damage that heals him and her alt ability, Control, doesn't work on him... or I can reload from my only other saved state back before entering the second world. :P
I can equip her with a pair of the other knives from my inventory, but it's pointless, because she does between ~0-60 damage with them. It's better to just have her Defend and prolong her Golem's absorption effect.
And no, I can't backtrack, because I saved state literally right before the encounter triggered (specifically, I saved on a dialogue screen saying I'd found 20 gil on the ground because I figured I was heading toward an event, and the encounter begins as soon as the dialogue window closes. Turns out I was right about being about walking into something I wasn't ready for, just even sooner than I'd expected. T-T).

Yes, I did. I am currently connected to the network, I put in the password for it. When I open IE, it doesn't say it failed to load anything, but it never finished loading the page.
