A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

Well, the apartment building is mostly concrete, so it shouldn't be a problem.
Reaction Image Repository@Japanese Teeth: Yeah, it wouldn't be quite as much of a problem with a concrete apartment building rather than a typical house (which is what I was imagining), but it still sounded dangerous to me. Out of curiosity, when you said "land on the building," do you mean the sparkling "fallout" from a fireworks explosion, people throwing fireworks on top of buildings (like throwing a bomb) or something completely different? Because it was the second one that I imagined when I read your post.

Oh yeah, that was awesome. When I played Norse, I nearly always played Loki too. Loki also has the advantage of accessing Hel in the Mythic age.
Of course from an actual competitive point of view, myth units aren't all that. Newbies like us way overuse them because they're flashy.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayI did tend to play under the strategy of 'use lots of the biggest ones'

Welcome to the wide and wonderful world of social interactions!
But seriously, nobodies happiness overwrites yours. You have the right to choose how to spend your time, and to spend it in a way that you enjoy. I know it feels lousy, but if you have drifted apart then cutting the string is probably for the best anyways. I've had to 'break up' with friendships in the past, and likely will in the future... it sucks, but in the long run you'll be a lot better off. Though it's not on the level of like, actual depression, half the time I feel lousy is because of bad relationships causing me stress.
Just don't be too eager with the chopping block. But like I said, seven years... not a huge deal there.

Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.Yeah, I've had to redefine a handful of friendships myself. Some I let drift away completely, others I still hold on to after letting go for a bit while I reassess things.
In the process, a lot of people that used to be in the "close friend" category got downgraded to "actually just a regular kind of friend" (not that I would say that to their faces). And I'm okay with that.
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...Maybe get a minor gift for her (like a gift card or something) and a card. Sort of a "I wasn't able to make it, but Happy Birthday anyway" kind of thing.
@Rainbow: Given that the building is over 50 feet high, throwing anything on top of it would be quite impressive. It's more the case of neighbors shooting stuff off in the street next to the building. Case in point, while I was out there tonight, the guys down the street shot some stuff that literally blew up right in front of the building. It was a really nice view though; we could probably see it better than they could. So yeah, we saw some nice fireworks, and I ate some smore's. Very good evening.
Reaction Image RepositoryYou know what, forget it.
Often I feel guilt tripped into things, even if it's part of the depression speaking. I'm always submissive to people's wants, having no confidence or constitution of my own.
I've had countless crappy birthdays and years of misery, I think she'll be fine.
Maybe I'm being a jerk, but it's my choice for once. Fuck everyone elses expectations.
Merry Birthmas, JT. And boom goes the dynamite around my neighborhood.
Jest set off the last of my fireworks in the back. Hope no one thinks they're illegal fireworks, because they are powerful, but tiny.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justicefuck I hate it when mom goes on road trips. It means I have to do more work, not just house work but also giving her directions and movie descriptions over the phone.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectThanks, guys. Tomorrow I'm going over to a family friend's house, and they have a pool with a big waterslide. Should be fun.

@Japanese Teeth: Happy early birthday!
I hope you don't get any fireworks on your roof either, because that would be dangerous and not a pleasant birthday surprise.
I wonder if Fluttershy ever has to comfort scared animals during Equestrian celebrations that involve fireworks, given that they scare many real-life animals such as dogs. Notably, fireworks are one of the few things my Pomeranian Luna is scared of, and she's usually a Fearless Fool. The animals who Twilight was levitating in Magic Duel didn't seem to be scared of the fireworks that Trixie set off, but maybe only the boldest, least fearful animals chose to take part in that since more timid animals wouldn't like being levitated anyway.
