A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.

All of the usual forum rules apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

With that being said, there should be a National Jeff Goldblum Day, everyone has to say "uhhhh" and "ummm" during each sentence.

I use GIMP, but I'm a terrible artist, so that's not necessarily a good recommendation.

Is there anypone here that can recommend an art program to use? I know of Sai, but is there anything better? That doesn't cost a lot of money, I mean.
GIMP—the GNU Image Manipulation Program—is almost as powerful as Photoshop and completely free. That said, the interface is weird and unintuitive, so you definitely need to consult the manual a bit.

I was actually surprised a couple days ago when I came home from work to more than 2 pages. It was almost like old times.

What we need to do is start hosting events or something. That way we'll all have something to talk about.tongue

by "old times" you mean "a few months ago"?

I was going to say two and a half years ago, but even the burst of activity a couple days ago is nowhere near like what it used to be.

No, I'm talking about ending the chapters in the middle of a scene instead of using normal chapter breaks.
I didn't feel like either Kyler or I (Kyler was the one who wrote ch 6? If not, then whoever wrote ch 6.) ended the chapter in the middle of a scene. Ch 6 ended with an unsolved problem looming directly over the protagonists. And my chapter ended with the protagonists solving that problem and resuming their quest, with a brief foreshadowing of future problems. Pretty standard as far as chapter breaks go.

Oh, maybe I was mistaken. I didn't read the chapter througly, I just glanced at the beginning and end while compiling it.

@marcen 12: Everyone that has it should list their friend code, for X/Y.

"Goes to look for 3ds"

Okay, my friend code is:

4167-4553-2993

I think we also need to know the name. Mine is Wereael, for the friend thing.

I find it funny that the N64 games have better graphics than what the DS can have. Granted it's a handheld, but I'm still puzzled why any main games were never ported to consoles. They'd look great.

Technically you could play them on the consoles via Game Boy Player and co.

If you want to be really hardcore, try playing Kirby Tilt N Tumble on the Gamecube via gameboy player. Some dexterity required.

@Story I liked it when it was at 250...then there were too many to memorize. I still don't know if I know every single pokemon.

You mean 251. Don't forget Celebi, even if it wasn't actually possible to get.

Anyway, I stopped at gen 2 too. I would say that later gens have too many pokemon to remember, but I've forgotten most of the gen 2 pokemon over time too.

But a lot of the later gen pokemon seem like their scraping the bottom of the barrel. It's like Sealio, seriously? What's wrong with Seel? Did they lose creativity that fast? And then there are a bunch of lame concepts like a feaking ice cream cone.

Third gen was still pretty good.

In terms of the anime I stop at the end of the second just because taken as it's own up to that point, it makes a complete saga.

My brother and I were watching old Pokemon episodes during our crappy anime night last night. It's not that awful, but fun snark bait.

I remember when WB Kids ran all the pokemon episodes from beginning to end. Sadly, it didn't finish because WB no longer existed.

I saw some episodes of the original season, but never any of the others. I never watched much TV.
