A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

Pink Celestia was their future daughter
Who else knew there was going to be another F.O.P feat. Drake Bell movie?

WHOA nelly. o///o that's... quite an impressive Trixie.
http://h0useb0und.tumblr.com/The castle of Pink Celestia exhibits an unusual phenomenon: while Court is in session, the floor of the throne room vibrates at a constant rate. Some find this irritating, while others find it strangely relaxing. Many attribute it to the recently-installed steam engines in the castle basement, and give it no further thought. Only a few of the courtiers know the true cause: while court is in session, Pink Celestia suppresses her never-ending urge to bounce and dance across the room. Instead, she burns off that energy by fidgeting and vibrating at a speed too quick to be seen.
@Dark: It's a comic with the Mythbusters exposing Pinkie Pie to coffee as part of a test. It results in an explosion and Pinkie ending up in orbit.

Bum dum tiss
Fuck, why is there 3 movies now?
Sounds like they just want to make it a sub franchise, canon be damned.
The first was watchable at best.
Eh, they just need to let the whole thing die. The rapidfire humour, continuous lampshading, and crazy antics kept the show fun, but they lost most of that halfway through. Even then it had good episodes, and the animated specials were consistently great.
Then Poof came along. Then the live action movies. Then the dog.
By contrast, Jimmy Neutron went out gracefully, heck the last episode is so low key you wouldn't even know it's got some resolution the first watch. It did what it wanted to do, then quietly finished.
If Modern Sponge Bob is like the kids equivalent of Family Guy in terms of disturbing content and Seasonal Rot, I suppose that Fairly Odd Parents is the kids equivalent of The Simpsons in terms of Seasonal Rot and Franchise Zombie.

But yeah, they exist. And they suck too.

Okay. Reading the last few pages reminds me of how I have a completely different view of shipping than most.
If a couple isn't boring, that's an indication that there relationship has problems. So, why would you portray them as being a good couple?
Honestly, do you really want the kind of relationship that creates the kind of problems people like watching?
I certainly don't. I hope that my future wife (assuming, by some miracle, she actually exists) and I have a complete snoozefest of a relationship and I wish the same upon others due to the fact that I don't get a kick out of other people being miserable.
1. Any relationship, no matter how well your personalities mesh, is going to have rough spots by virtue of the fact that multiple people are involved. No two people are going to agree on everything.
2. Butting heads can be a sign of affection anyway.
3. A couple could be non-boring without having problems.
4. Most people ship based on how interesting the relationship would be.
5. It's entirely possible to take a given pairing and execute in both a positive and negative example. For example, take Flutterdash. If you want to portray it negatively, you treat it as Fluttershy being overly submissive and Rainbow Dash dominating her to an unhealthy degree. If you want to portray it positively, you treat it as Character Development, with Rainbow Dash learning to be more sensitive to Fluttershy's feelings, and Fluttershy learning to stand up for what she wants out of the relationship rather than just letting Dash do whatever.

On the subject of shipping Celestia with Pinkie that got mentioned earlier in the thread, one could say that Hasbro literally ships them together because they're together in that one regular-size brushable set that has Pinkie with Celestia in her correct white coloring.
