A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

Home grown Montreal cider in the fall, aww yiss. Even the crap stuff is still pretty good.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes. In general, I just don't care for beer. Then again, I don't care for alcohol in general.
Reaction Image RepositoryYesterday, I made my own apple ale. Now I have no apple juice to use anymore.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceIt didn't have a cartoon, but there's enough toy descriptions and a raising sim game that's apparently not half bad according to the few that have played it.
G2 had more realistic horse designs, earthy colors, and some more stallions which all combined to turn off the G1 fans. Though it's mostly the designs.
Funnily enough, Clover the Clever is based off a G2 male named Clever Clover.

Yeh, i've seen those before. Wasn't interested in drinking them, then again, I'd still be unable to drink since the law is pretty strict on 18 yr olds drinking.

Yeah, age limits can be annoying, but there's totally a loophole in those laws. It turns out if you wait long enough, you can just bypass them entirely! I can't believe they didn't notice that when writing the laws.
I've never been a fan of Fireball, mostly because of people pushing shots of it onto me (I really don't like taking shots) but it would probably be pretty good mixed with stuff. I should try that.

Special mention goes to when the romance overtakes something that didn't need it and should have focused on something else instead. Chances are that you know exactly what I'm referring to.
It's sad when the best instances of romance in the show are things that actually kind of made fun of the genre instead of playing it straight {Rarity's sub plot in Best Night Ever, Hearts and Hooves Day, Simple Ways}. Heck, shipping fanfics handle romance better then the show does.

What? That's crazy. I know when I heard they were doing and evil elseworld story, the first thing I thought was "man, I hope they focus on a love story involving someone who barely had a character to flip. If they spend the whole time with evil versions of characters I know and love I'll be seriously disappointed."

It wasn't even that.. it was just how... BORING the romances was, and seemed to be nothing but Tia suddenly being all "he's so dreamy' out of nowhere. And sadly, it was still the best done romance in the show. Simply because it was the one that least reduced the ponies involved into blithering morons.
@ marston Yeah,I know which plot your referring to.But the opposite can be just as bad when they don't do much with it.Take Cadence and Shining, for example. They get married in their 1st episode, then shining starts to turns in to a minor character who barely interacts with Cadence.Or Flash and Twily, story tries to portray them as a couple, gets so half-assed it barely seems romantic. The show can not seem to understand what love is.
Even that romance is still manages to be half-assed,since the romance isn't major in most of story since its introduced the third issue and manages to be lazy in terms of writing and focus.
