A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

@ zombie: we've been had! Time to initiate lethal corn force!
it does take a while to get used to, but it's better for my wrist than a mouse.
Also, Tia honey, I think it's time to take a vacation.

"I feel like I'm on a raft and surrounding me is an ocean of dumb."- Mr. SarkAs far as the less savory aspects of the brony scene, I particularly liked Ultra Fast Pony's satire of those fans. Specifically in the episodes "A Library with No Twilight" (mocking the people who get creepy about Rule 34) and "How Not To Train Your Dragon" (which reimagines the dragon teenagers as "love and tolerance" hypocrites).
@Wereael: be sure to read customer reviews so you get the best bang for your buck.
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.I got a Wacom Bamboo, but I'm still using good old pencil and paper anyway
Did a number of fanarts on the Splatoon thread recently (also visible on my Pixiv, Photobucket, and KYM archive).
Anyways they rebranded all the Bamboo tablets and folded them onto the bottom rung of the Intuos tablet lineup around here.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!Technically, you have to husk it. Or shuck, for varying definitions. But you don't peel it, per se.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.@Meta: I haven't seen any of Ultra Fast Pony, but those two episode do sound kinda amusing.
But I think this fandom in general takes itself too seriously sometimes. Emotional invest in a work is fine, but we're talking about miniature, multicolored equines. The world is not going to end when Sparkle-butt gets wings.
"I feel like I'm on a raft and surrounding me is an ocean of dumb."- Mr. SarkGwen: But every fandom has that issue. Our fandom's issues are just less focused, because canon ships of the main six are too scarce for everyone to fight over.
Sharing is caring, after all.
Also Twilight is a princess now, so I mean, pony princesses may very well have access to Harems. It's unlikely, given the way actual horse mating and social structure works, but hey, this is fantasy.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.@crow: Well obviously. Shipping is serious business, after all.
@Kuroi: True. I guess it's the brony fandoms' size that makes me see drama in more places than I'm used to. My last fandom, the Invader Zim fandom, was on a much smaller scale, so I didn't see as much "Stop Having Fun" Guys guys.
@dark: It's funny you say that, because I've been watching two shipping wars go on for awhile now. Fluttercord vs. Dislestia and Somlestia vs. Dislestia.
I could care less what people ship, just ship and let ship, I say.
Plus polygamy is the answer to all of life's shipping problems.

"I feel like I'm on a raft and surrounding me is an ocean of dumb."- Mr. SarkI prefer to ship at random, and without bias. It's more fun that way.
Granted I usually restrict myself to background characters to avoid major shipping conflicts with crazy people. Not that that always stops people
.
I didn't realize Pokey Pace was a popular enough ship to warrant anti-ship stamps. Or that it was a ship to begin with.
I think I've been pretty open about my ship of choice, so here's me every time they interact, as interpreted by Rarity.

You claim to ship them, but didn't take a scene of them interacting in any fashion whatsoever as fuel? I'm sorry, but I'm going to need you to hand over your badge and your gun.

I wrote a story based on that ship. Pairing them completely at random because I happened to like how their aesthetics matched up. The story was extremely well-received, largely due to it mainly dealing with Pokey coming to terms with his sexuality, and so far as I know it is the proginator of the ship, and one of the only pieces that actually exhibits it. I've seen maybe three pictures that pair them up, and a passing mention in another fic.
And yet apparently, it's offensive enough to get an anti-ship tag. I've looked at the 'artist's' Deviant Art page; s/he appears to be fairly homophobic in general.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.@crow: Shipping Fuel/ Ship Tease, yes. OMG IT'S CANON!!!1 Not like some claim. I need slightly more concrete evidence than that.
Plus, I don't have a badge or gun. I do however, have hand puppets. Should I hand those over?
@kegi: I had no idea that pairing had enough support to warrant an anti-stamp, but apparently so. Also, way to keep it classy artist. =_=

I really wish I had more time to get back into drawing. It was fun, but ultimately trying to do any coloring without a tablet was just way too much of a pain.
EDIT: Uh oh.
