A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.

I'd honestly skip fallout 1 and go straight to 2.

But I want to meet the Master. I hear he's a memorable character.

And the game doesn't tell me how to do anything.

If you think that's bad, wait till you see Star Control 2, aka The Ur Quan Masters. As far as I know there was no tutorial in the manual either, though the game did come with a star map that contains an obscure hint to one of the quests.

In Star Control 2, you have to obsessively write down every single thing an NPC says (no they will not necessarily repeat important dialog) and even then you'll probably only be able to discover half the plot points and quests. It's a wonder that anyone beat it in the days before walkthroughs.

Games were justin general cheaper and more sadistic back in the day. Baffles me how apparently all the freeware stuff now is designed to be nostalgically Nintendo Hard. Why would anyone want that?

I heard that my grandmother used to like eating frosting out of the can. Then she got diabetes.

Star Control 2 isn't hard per se, it just throws you into a Wide-Open Sandbox with little guidance and no handholding at all. Plus there's lots of Guide Dang It!.

Ecco The Dolphin on the other hand does fit that description (Sega Hard, I guess?). Apparently the Dev made it so ridiculous because he was paranoid about people borrowing it and beating it over the weekend.

I think all the nostalgia games are just trying to pull in the hard skill stuff and not the rote memorization or inconveniences caused by poor interfaces/design. For example, look at Phantasy Star 1, where many of the dungeons were so large with such a stupid amount of floors that drawing grid maps was almost mandatory in order to not end up wandering aimlessly. Devs would have to be insane to try to replicate something like that.

I'd like to see Twi learn more about friendships and relationships from the player characters of Persona.

Which Persona game are we talking about? And at what point in the plotline and/or SL sideplot?

This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...

Today is my 29th birthday! I got some pony books yesterday as presents; I got the Journal of the Two Sisters, the Rarity chapter book, and the Equestria Girls Rainbow Rocks book. My parents and I did that part yesterday because today we're taking my 13 year old Elkhound (Diana the Tsun Dere dog) to an out-of-town vet for a consultation concerning a lump on her head that is likely to be cartilage cancer, and now I have new books I can read in the car! I don't mind spending my birthday taking care of Diana because I love her and I'm also the one in the family who can understand medical terminology the best because of the medical coding classes I took a few years ago.

I used to put chocolate frosting between two chocolate chip eggo waffles and eat it like a sandwich.

I used to put warm Hershey's chocolate sauce (the hot fudge sauce in a can, NOT the thin, yucky syrup you use to make chocolate milk) on Eggo waffles. Mom thought it was disgusting. She didn't know what she was missing.

I put my friend in a coconut! He lives in my hat! Hey, come hang out!

Happy birthday!

Hope it's a good one!

My day has been plagued by the fact that I've had the hiccups since before going to sleep last night. It's now almost half past three in the afternoon.

Happy birthday Rainbow!

Funny enough, I had the Echo games and all the first 4 Phantasy Stars.

PS 1 was just ridiculous.

On one fin the Echo games were brutal, but on the other being what it was the difficulty and sudden sharks and the like rushing to devour you just enhanced the cramped, dark, creepy atmosphere.

It's still a really good story with creepy music and design, minimalist dialogue put to good use, and enough Mind Screw elements to be memorable.
