A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

I don't think Free is interesting, but I'm glad at least one show is giving the girls some fan service instead of just the guys.
http://h0useb0und.tumblr.com/It's hardly the first. From what I understand, Prince Of Tennis was sustained almost entirely by yaoi fangirls (though I imagine there was less partial nudity simply by virtue of Free! being about swimmers).
^ Star has a tendency to try to nip question in the bud before they're directed at him. Of course, this usually just results in questions that weren't going to be asked of him in the first place being asked of him once he's drawn attention to himself.

We'll mark you down for 'aggressively heterosexual' then, shall we Star?
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes. Are you trying to start a flamewar?
Luckily I doubt there are enough Smash fans to actually create one.
In Brawl I always play as Kirby. I haven't played Melee much, so I'm equally bad with every character. When I was a kid I always picked Mewtwo though for coolness.
That's the only way I've ever played it. Mainly because I don't own any of the games and hence only play them at parties and get togethers. Of course this means that I've never seen most of the items or alternative game modes, let alone Subspace Emissary.
You mean like how all the AAA games nowadays are hundred million dollar Call Of Duty clones that favor graphics and cinematics at the expensive of actual gameplay, while pissing away enough money to feed an indie studio for life?
I wonder what he thinks about Lightning Returns?
I don't know, but A.I.s don't.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayI still don't have internet access at my new apartment, so I check in 2 or 3 times a day using the lobby wifi. Comcast was supposed to install it yesterday morning, but they didn't show up, so I've rescheduled to Saturday.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayWho said Free!?
Welp, seems like I didn't really need more anime material. Finished another OC who will be my first glasses wearing OC, which is really freakin' difficult to draw.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceI don't know whether to go "Yay!" because it's not another schoolgirl anime or be afraid i'll burn in Hell for watching little boys swim.
Na, i'll just be glad I even know it exists.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceOkay, I thought up a comic book character and I'd like to get some opinions on the initial concept.
I don't have a name for him at the moment, but that's only because The Mummy is too generic. He was a selfish amateur archeologist during the 1940s, but when he finally found a Pharaoh's tomb (and thought he'd hit the jackpot) he got cursed and became an undead mummy. Now he has to walk the earth as punishment for his crimes against the dead, and takes advantage of his undead immortality to fight crime and redeem himself. He's not a very nice person, and still very selfish, but he tries to do the right thing in the end.

Well, yeah. It wasn't exactly a good argument. It wandered very close to the homophobic and sexist at times, and it's not unfair to assume that that was a big part of the motivation, but overall it was just entitlement. There are certain sections of certain fandoms that just want things done their way, accept no substitutes, and will complain very loudly if they don't get that way.
Read: The reason I do not go into the video game subforums.
While the timing of the series proper being announced makes it impossible, there was a rumour going around for a while that the backlash from the entitled fans about the trailer is what caused the series to go into production in the first place, and honestly I wouldn't blame them if it was true.
