A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

Page-toppers are overrated. They're, like, a post at the top of a page.
I put my friend in a coconut! He lives in my hat! Hey, come hang out!I never really liked Miis. They just seemed like an uncanny valley inconvenience, especially when the Wii made me create one despite the first game I put in not even using them.

I have no issue with them doing it for the casual crowd who wants to be bothered with that stuff, but I was rather annoyed that it was mandatory in order to play my non-Mii games.

Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceFree! 's second season is coming out soon(heh, coming out). No better time to revel in sexy, half-naked and questionably homosexual boys getting wet.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes. It isn't technically a boys love anime, since no romance between any of the characters is explicit. It's implied, heavily as hell, but never outright shown. What it actually is is manservice, basically. Like I said, hot, muscly, half-naked boys in water. Probably the main reason it's getting attention is because it's from a studio that's normally renowned for doing moe fanservicey stuff, I think. Either way, it was first announced as an animation demo 'under the guise' of a trailer and caused the anime fandom to collectively shit itself.
The smaller contingent of gay and female fans were happy to see something targeting them, while the larger, or at least louder, subset of extremely entitled male fans absolutely lost it, calling it, with no trace of irony, pointless pandering and fanservice and saying that there was no place for it. The progression was actually interesting to watch, as the arguments went from 'pointless fanservice' to 'women and gays don't breing in as much revenue as we do so you shouldn't pander to them'. Basically, people complaining that something wasn't pandering to them.
On it's own merits though, it's a really good show. The animation is gorgeous, wonderfully smooth and bright and colourful. All of the characters are uniquely designed and they move in their own specific ways(Each of the four man characters uses a different style of swimming, to start, but just their normal movements are really accounted for), which helps fill out their personalities. Not that they need the help; all the characters are really fun and engaging.
Most of the story is based in the relationships between the characters, trying to get the swimming club started up and running, and everything comes through really strong. Swimming actually takes a back seat, but while the few races we get are really intense, combining everything else with a really bubbly, poppy soundtrack... the whole thing is just really, really fun.
There's no denying why it was made, but it's the perfect example of fanservice done right. Easily one of my favourite animes. It's absolutely fantastic.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.Unsurprising, considering the whole of humanity seems to want to be pandered to on a daily basis.

Pansexuality is the term, though it's been my experience that people tend to start rolling eyes around bisexuality, so I generally just let people assume whatever they want to. Whatever someone assumes I like, they're not generally wrong, so...
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.Mine depends on whether we're talking 2D or 3D. Also I have some rather odd tastes.

I mean, granted, said show doesn't appeal to me at all, but that's no reason for me to complain about something targeted at other people. The only scenario in which I can see that reaction even sorta being justified is if the studio promised to do some other project, and then shelved it in favor of another show. And even then the problem wouldn't have anything to do with the content.

If I remember correctly, the 3DS version has Smash Run which is like Air Ride's City Trial, the Classic mode is gonna be more varied from what I've seen and every character has customizable movesets you can tinker around with, ESPECIALLY the Mii Fighter. I'm sure there's a bunch of other stuff we don't know about as well.
Also, the wait for season 5 is stronk, PAGE TOPPA ABOUND.
