A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.

All of the usual forum rules apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

@JT: Yeah, though I did get mine with a coupon, so didn't actually pay full price for it. On the other hand, it comes with a whole bunch of tidbits on Star Swirl, the founders of Equestria, zebras, griffons, and the Crystal Empire (pre King Sombra- there's no mention of him here). That made me really happy. :P

@Princess Gwen I might think about getting that book actually.

Spoilers blah blah blah, crap.

I'm the one to usually grab the latest book, but my sources are slow this time.

Believe me, if I could go out and read a physical book for 15 bucks I would.

Okay, probably would. wink

I think something's wrong with the AC in this apartment. I just checked the thermostat, and it's 80 freaking degrees F in here. I don't think it's actually cooling the air it's blowing.

Ouch. My AC failed once when it was pushing 100 out. You should get it checked before it gets warmer.

111 degrees over here. Outside, that is. Thank Celestia we have AC. Or rather, don't.

Eesh, that sounds miserable. Is it at least a dry heat?

one of the few really good videogame adaptations.

Oh the few I've seen, I'd nominate Ace Attorney.

111 out? Ouch! I remember one time I attempted to fry an egg on the pavement in similar heat.

@JT. Yes, but dry heat will pay you back by sucking all the moisture from you. To the point where most people need to bring two bottles of water to work if they don't want to pass out in the summer, or at least get headaches and disorientation after a few hours.

Funny, you can actually fry an egg on a bit of metal when it gets really high for a few hours.

That sounds pretty bad. Though if you have access to water I think that's better than if it's muggy and you can't even sweat.

Yeah, I wasn't successful at the frying, but that's because I tried to do it on asphault. It probably would have worked on metal.

That and you wouldn't want to eat an egg off of asphalt anyway.

Anyway, I have to get up early for work tomorrow, so I'm going to bed now.

Reminds me of the time I went to a park in the summer when I was 9. Metal was hot enough it burnt my wrist a bit.

I obviously wasn't going to eat it. That's just stupid.

Something interesting on Cracked. They've mentioned bronies a bit in prior articles, ranging from good-natured poking fun at the fandom to full "Ew gross" alarmism. But in the article "5 Hated Groups That Are Going Out of Their Way to Be Awesome", bronies are item #3. The author mentions the charities that bronies have organized, and then apologizes for the brony-bashing in a prior article they wrote. I wasn't expecting that.

Wow. That almost makes me not want to filter out the "doing hurtful things" tag. But only almost.

Speaking of tags, I'm digging the "offspring" tag, for some reason.

This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...

how about a few other instances of doing hurtful things being subverted, like this, this, or this?

Did you try all the mirror sites?

Proxy?

Mirror sites, proxy, different browsers, absolutely nothing works. And it's just derpibooru. No other side does that.
