A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

Dark- sorry your depression is doing badly today. I still have bad days once in a while, but they're less common now. If you need to talk or anything, just let me know.
Star- your dad HIT your sister? If you're serious, Call either the cops or whatever the British equivalent of CPS is. Physical abuse is NOT acceptable.
http://h0useb0und.tumblr.com/@Ike No it's nothing that serious, I think it was more in retaliation for her being annoying but I don't know I wasn't there when that happened. All I know is she decided to be an ass to him and just keep him outta the house and plus I really don't want to go over it again.

"Transform and Roll out!" Optimus PrimeI learned something interesting today that is related to MLP. In Too Many Pinkie Pies, one of the clones accidentally calls Applejack "Applejohn." I found out that "applejohn" is actually a real thing. According to a book about unusual word origins and definitions, "applejohn" is what the drink "applejack" is called in New England (or may have been called that at some point in the past). I also found out that "applejohn" is a term for an old, dried and wrinkly apple when I searched for the term online:

@Japanese Teeth Again I don't know how it happened, I just got caught in the moment and I'm just telling ya what I know. But I will say this just to clarify, my dad's anything but an abuser. He can be a bit aggressive yes but he wouldn't go that far. I'm pretty certain that my sister was just exaggerating on that bit there.

"Transform and Roll out!" Optimus Prime@dark: Yes, it's Sailor Chibi Moon's first main attack from the S series.
I chose it to go with my Chibi-Usa avatar, since she's my favorite Sailor Moon character. I'm definitely looking forward to this new Sailor Moon Crystal series!
If you have any questions about Sailor Moon, I could answer them over P Ms since I'm familiar with pretty much all the versions of Sailor Moon except for the live-action musicals.

Reaction Image RepositoryI'm from New England and...no, never heard of it.
Also, I was a kid in the "it's okay to spank your kids without the cops being called on you" generation.
I put my friend in a coconut! He lives in my hat! Hey, come hang out!So was I, although it never really happened to me that often.
Not because I was a good kid, oh no. I was a little shit. But I was a tough little shit, so I would just tank it and not really care. My parents quickly discovered the really effective way to punish me was to bore me.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes. My parents never really needed to spank me. I was either well behaved or sneaky enough not to get caught. When I did get in trouble the punishments were more of the "take away the toys" variety.
Reaction Image RepositoryI usually had my toys and games taken away. Once in a while I got grounded, which was more humiliating than anything.
I was usually well behaved, though, and I still am.

http://h0useb0und.tumblr.com/I got smacked a couple times when I was younger, but I was never particularly troublesome. Kinda wish I had mote friends who'd be willing to do stupid stuff with me though. XD
Oh, since I brought up toys last night, I'll do it again: Funko has announced new mini figures, including Discord.
It's cool, I don't like having money anyway. :/

@Dark: Yeah... sorry. I mean, for whatever it's worth the story is still really good in its own right. The plot is basically that Humanity has been invited to a race for the entire galaxy, a race for "The ultimate prize", ostensibly one wish for whatever the winning racer wants. Humanity's government wants the wish so they can gain enough power to stave off a pending invasion by a nearby, heavily imperialist species.
The main character, however, sneaks onto Humanity's racing team with the motivation of bringing her mother back to life, and possibly restarting their family with her father, the manager of Humanity's Racing team... who hasn't seen her in so long that he doesn't know who she is, and is not overly pleased with her sneaking onto the team.
There's a lot of other stuff in there, like the main character learning to be an actual half-decent racer in order to replace Humanity's intended pilot, as a crash leaves him with a degenerative injury that keep him from being able to race, the obvious subplot between the main character and her dad, and a lot of background stuff with the race itself as they get closer and closer to the Ultimate Prize.
