A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.

@Wryte: Venture Bros is on the list, it's just not one of the shows that I actually have directly available at the moment.
As for Avatar, I'm literally one episode away from the end of the first season. It's been good, but I feel like there's a lot of fillerish content that doesn't have enough character content to make up for the lack of plot relevance. That said, the episodes that do have plot relevance tend to be very good; it's just that they only make up like half the content at this point. I think the main issue is that the main Aang/Katara/Sokka dynamic isn't quite strong enough to generate interesting content on it's own. At points I almost wish the show would've just straight-up focused on Zuko and Iroh, because I feel like he's consistently gotten more characterization and backstory than the Gaang does. I really wish the two groups would cross paths more, because it would be a lot more interesting than all the Wacky Wayside Tribe type episodes. (Yes, I know a lot of them become relevant later, but that means nothing at the moment).
I'm really enjoying Kill La Kill so far (I'm currently on episode 22); it's unabashedly goofy at points, but given the ridiculousness of the plot, it makes sense, and still manages to have plenty of dramatic moments. My only real complaint is the pacing; the Myth Arc kicks in too late, so certain plot points that ought to be really major and get some focus Senketsu getting shredded and Ryuko getting brainwashed by Ragyo get resolved too quickly. Like with Senketsu getting cut up, I was expecting a few episodes of her running around recovering the pieces, not putting him back together before the end of the next episode. But other than that it's really interesting.

Reaction Image RepositoryYeah, I can vaguely see the appeal of that sort of thing, but it's not for me. I'll stick to Azumanga Daioh and Seto No Hanayome, thank you.
Reaction Image Repository@Teeth The 1st 2 seasons are good but it really gets good at the 3rd.
Sailor Moon. -sigh- Wow, I used to watch that when I was in the 1 and 2nd grade. I had a crush on Sailor Mercury.
https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615qI even heard that old cartoon about ponies, hmm think it was called Your Precious Pegasus or something like that is getting one as well. Eh, It Will Never Catch On.
Sailor Moon's still relevant? I thought it died out in the 90s.
Don't let Gwen hear you say that.
@JT: I agree on Avatar, the first season had some real pacing issues, and Zuko was a lot more interesting that Aang's group most of the time. Season 2 is where it really starts to pick up, though, so if you're still on board with the show at this point, you're probably not gonna be disappointed very often in the future (I will say that I thought "Appa's Lost Days" and "Tales of Ba Sing Se" were wastes of episodes, aside from Iroh's part in the latter, but I seem to be a minority opinion on that one).
As for KLK, I'd say being unabashedly goofy is half the charm/point, and I actually appreciated the quick resolutions to events like those, rather than dragging them out over several repetitive episodes. Maybe that's just the old Dragonball Z fan in me talking, though. :P
I remember watching (one of?) the sailor moon movie when I was younger. It was cool. I'll watch the reboot, and I'm hoping they put the uncut/recut version of the original on crunchyroll.
http://h0useb0und.tumblr.com/Sailor Moon was pretty cool at points, though I could never take it seriously. It does deserve props for both basically founding an entire genre of anime as well as being one of the first major anime shows to hit it big in the States.
Apparently, the reboot is going to try and hew closer to the source manga, which could be neat. Sailor Moon was much more badass in the manga than she was in the show.
Well, Excuse Me, Princess! but I'm an egghead, not a nerd. Sheesh, have some standards why don't ya.

Currently I'm binging on Adventure Time, by the way I saw I remember you very good episode mind, started up Beast Wars again, Dragons Riders of Berk and I'm thinking of watching Hetalia just to see what the dealio is with that show.
