A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

@NES: That's part of it. The only one that's ever been close enough to me for it to be economical was the Bronycon two years ago. Which happened to be schedule like 2 weeks before my Masters Thesis was due. Would've been fun, but not so fun that I'd put that to the side. Another factor is that honestly I have little interest in any of the Big Name Fan panels or booths outside of maybe buying some swag. I'd be there almost entirely for the staff panels, which would greatly reduce the scope of the thing for me. And I can watch those on Youtube if I really want to see them.
Reaction Image RepositoryI did see some Malaysian Bronies coming from one con, but I haven't been to many personally.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau Project@Teeth I agree with the watching the cons on youtube but it's only because I kind of don't want to see my heroes and influences in person. People like, anyone on Game Grumps, Brad Jones and k-os. I wouldn't know what I'd say, I would probably go crazy or something.
https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615qSee, being around loads of other fans doesn't really appeal to me much. I mean, don't get me wrong, the fanbase is great, but that's not why I watch the show. Paying a bunch of money and using up a weekend just to be in the same location as a bunch of other fans could be fun, but I'm not usually the type of person who enjoys being surrounded by lots of people, even if they do share my interests.

Ech. I wouldn't feel like I would enjoy it. People usually tell me that things are amazing but in the end, they're only ok,

https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615qJesus webs, see some people?
I'm trying to go to the toilet at the library, but the men's are being cleaned. The cleaner lady tells me to use the disabled. So I do. In and and out in a minute. Guy standing outside eating crisps. Tells me that's the disabled toilets. I say (politely) I know, and I try to say why in there but he just keeps interrupting me with 'that's the disabled toilets you shouldn't be in there'. He's not disabled, and there's not a disabled person around. I just tell him I just did and there's no going back now. He tells me I should be ashamed of myself. I just smirk at him.
I'm here in the cafe chilling out and he's watching me. I sense an altercation coming up.
-shrugs- I'd like to experience a con at some point in my life admittedly.
Anywho, got a couple pics.
- Cuteness ahoy!
- Celestia is denied her cake.
- Discord dislikes princesses climbing upon him.
- Enjoying your ride, Spike?
- The sun on your tabard's not sure of your plan, Solaire.

@Danny Don't make eye contact with him. That's what happens with some people.

Did you tell him that the cleaning lady told you to use it?
Anyway, yeah, I do want to try going to a con eventually, but if I do, I'd almost certainly want to go with some friends I already know. Experience tells me that things like that are a lot more fun when I do them with someone that I know.
Reaction Image RepositoryTeeth: You know, I thought that about the cons too. My very first con plan was extremely show-staff and merch oriented, but I found meeting and hanging out with friends in the fandom (and a few random people) to be just as enjoyable, if not moreso. In short, don't knock it until you've tried it.
Danny: Sounds like a real life SJW.

And when was Twitch consistent with her personality anyway?
The main characters are silent, and open to interpretation as a result.
Edit- I am now doing tech support for the customers at moms antique shop. I am questioning why.

But seriously, I'm not sure whether Twitch ever reached a consensus about whether A from FR was also A from Emerald or not. :l

@Star I dunno, probably. Again, I've never been to a Con, or an Expo, or an Con Expo.
