A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

Story's archive of the old thread ends at post #397,850. Add the missing four pages, and I'm guessing the old thread had approximately 398,000 posts.
I put my friend in a coconut! He lives in my hat! Hey, come hang out!50k, 15k, same thing. :P
In other news, it turns out Twilight's books are okay.

@ Wryte: I once caught a thread THIS BIG! *stretches arms wide*
In other news, it turns out Twilight's books are okay.
Twi, that pun was terrible and you should feel terrible.
Just make sure it's not a rain cloud.

XP granted for befriending a giant magical spider!Just make sure it's not a rain cloud.
Twilight trying out spells she found in rain-damaged books could be...interesting.
Twi: Okay, step 3. "Ram horn..." ...something. The rest is all smudged. Oh well. I'm sure Starswirl the Bearded knew what he was doing.
\*later that day*
I have to wonder how the Ponyville citizens would have reacted to the fight between Tirek and Twilight. Seeing the two most powerful magical beings in existence throw everything they had at each other, titans locked in an epic clash. Would they be gazing in awe from a distance or fleeing in terror for their lives?
The Flim Flam brothers would set up a gambling booth.
Flam: 100 bits on Tirek? Thank you, kind sir! Next!
I put my friend in a coconut! He lives in my hat! Hey, come hang out!Interesting proof, though I must question why you decided to multiply 42 by cupcake.

Nowhere to go after getting Super-Twilight's power except for maybe the pony equivalent of Galactus (Galloptus?).
I put my friend in a coconut! He lives in my hat! Hey, come hang out! There a fundamental flaw inherent in trying to constantly one-up last season's villain in that you can't keep escalating the threat without making the premise start to look a little ridiculous. Rather than a difference in scale, you should aim for a difference in kind.
It's how we haven't gotten bored of ponies after 4 seasons. We don't have bigger friendship problems, we've just been exploring different aspects of everyday life (fantastical premises aside).
So if you want to keep the two-parter format in the later seasons, you don't want bigger villains. You want different villains. The show has been good at giving us bad guys with different motivations and varied methods, but it's been relying too much on escalating the threat level.

This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...Perspective on how much pony we have so far.
◊ Unfortunately, the image is a bit hard to read.

Story had archived up to page 15,914 when the old thread got nuked. I believe he's said there were only four pages or so he didn't save.
