A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

Maybe they found out about the torch lighting.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayOther than the fact that they are indisputably the best craftsmen and engineers among pony kind? My personal theory is that the Medieval Stasis seem in Hearth's Warming Eve was partially due to poor trade, but also due to the fact that a large number of unicorns that could be building and inventing things were instead wasting their energy moving along celestial bodies every day and night. Farming is tedious, I imagine weather control is exhausting, but both of these are beneficial in the long run. Keeping the sun and the moon from moving however is dull, time consuming, and not an ideal way of leveraging power. Not when you could devote your time to making the armor the Pegasus need, or the pikes Earth ponies need instead.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Twilight had to have known that anything less than all-out wasn't going to be enough to stop Tirek, so she would have to use as much power as she could muster.
Note also that Tirek never lands a clean bit against Twilight. Of the three attacks that connect, Twilight manages to deflect all of them with some type of magic barrier.
I don't know if anyone said this but...does anyone think that Tyrek is like a villain out of a God of War game when he reaches maximum power?
https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615qEither that or he was caught in Colloseum/XD and then transferred to Gen 4.
Are you x86 by any chance?
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play@Star Yep. I was kind of wondering when Kratos was going to appear.
https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615q@Rhyme Beat: There are some who would say that Unicorn's had all the leverage they need in their magic since magic in this setting can do practically anything.
That however brings up a whole new set of questions, and many of those people also likely believe that HWE was covering up an obvious caste system so who knows.
Anyway, we did get our first explicit mention of Earth Pony strength in this episode. Still not sure if that will mean anything though.
@Story: What was that guys full handle? Because that sounds like something he would say.
Reaction Image RepositoryI was just thinking of that one dude who had a fixation on the Complete Monster trope and was deadset on applying it to Discord. Lawl.
Don't worry, I already reported him.
That was someone else. I've forgotten his name.
Not to be confused with Gaz Be Moo who was obsessed with Discord but not Complete Monsters.
@Meta Four, the only match in the new thread was the post where you asked me to search. I'll try searching the old thread next.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play@Paniic Discord was never a complete monster. He was evil but never went THAT far. If he were a complete monster, he would have out right destroyed everypony instead of made everyone chaotic.
https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615qNo hits at all in the old thread. I suspect you told me to search for the wrong words.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play@Mio . It wasn't really hiding the caste system, unless you mean the episode was pretending like the caste system doesn't still exist. And it does still exist to a lessoned extent , but it's unfortunately one created by the rules of Equestria itself. As for magic being able to do anything, that may be true, but most unicorns have only telekinesis and a few spells in their arsenal. To demonstrate both point I show how terrible Rarity was as a weather pony. She seemed to only be able to move clouds around and it's implied she could change what type of clouds they were. This suggests great while unicorns can have any spells tied to their cutie mark they can't just do everything with magic unless they've got Twilight's versatility
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.No you won't. It'd probably be a good idea to watch the season 4 opener though.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play@Rhyme Beast: Yeah, though that doesn't make sense to me because the tribes were obviously three different nations, not one nation with racial stratification.
I don't really mind the idea that Ponies abilities mean that ponies tend towards certain jobs, but any discussion of caste systems in Equestria inevitably seems to lead to racially based social stratification that doesn't really make sense.

@Dragon: There's also the fact that Twilight wasn't exactly using a lot of finesse in that fight; she was just blasting him with enormous amounts of energy. She did manage to teleport, but that's her signature spell, so obviously she'd have an easier time getting that figured out.
