A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

For a show like ATLA that's plot heavy, I think you can skip the fillery episodes without missing too much.
You'd be surprised. There's a fair amount of stuff in Avatar that seems to serve no purpose when it's introduced, only to be very important much later.
^ They should have had her smack her head on the door on the way out. :P

@ JT: I haven't heard much about it myself. What I have heard is that they used the same script, but had each episode animated by a different team who didn't see the others. So for me, it would be one gigantic game of Spot The Difference. I just like the idea of seeing a story presented in different ways. Hell, that's very closely related to one of the reasons why I loved Higurashi so much. I spent every minute of every episode trying to figure out which arcs were re-tellings of previous ones, and which were completely new.

I think it's a cool idea, but I don't think the execution was all that great.
Reaction Image RepositoryOkay that was funny.
Though part of me feels like I should be more offend by unique, special, magical, and otherwise fantasy based things getting demoted to basic, ordinary, mundane drek. But.. it's was humors enough for me not to care to much.
Also, MA Larson confirmed for Season 5 writer!

So you know what's a good game for making you feel stupid? Portal, and Portal 2. I was finally able to play them, and whoo-boy. I can't even count the number of times I struggled to figure out what I was supposed to do and where I was supposed to go, when the answer was staring me in the face. It was fun, though. I only wish there was some way I could have gone into them unspoiled though, because I would have enjoyed the story so much more if I didn't already know everything about it.
Edit: And I really hate that Portal 2 keeps changing my screen resolution.
Does anybody know what the average times for completing the games are? I want to know just how badly I sucked.

I can't really say how long it took me, since I wasted so much time just messing around. I know what you mean, though. There were a couple times where I wasted tons of time trying to figure something out, and then having an "Oh, I'm an idiot" moment when I figured it out.
Reaction Image RepositoryJust came out of my first of five final exams. So glad there will be ponies tomorrow... followed by two online exams.
I see we're talking about Portal. I can't replay the game on my current computer thanks to horrible lag. Strangely enough, the lag only happens when I look at orange portals.
We are all made of star stuff. Very, very weird star stuff.@Irish: I read a comment that said that the Diamond Dogs should be called the Diamond Dudes in this universe. I dig.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau Project@Irish: Nope, that's definitely a keytar. There are definitely some other similar instruments, though.
Reaction Image RepositoryI think you have a problem. If you weren't so hung up on 'getting every part of the story', there would be a lot more cool and fun things you could read/watch/play.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayI think Rarity is the last person I would see playing the keytar, but... damn does she rock it.
@star (from a two pages back): I'm going to Disney with my aunt and uncle. My parents helped to pay, but I'm paying them back bit by bit.

"I feel like I'm on a raft and surrounding me is an ocean of dumb."- Mr. SarkCRDW: I took about a weekend for each. For the first game, it's not necessarily an accurate measurement, though, since I spent a lot of time trying to steal all of GLADOS' cameras and then doing stupid things with them once I did.
I would not have expected Rarity to warm up to the instrument so quickly, considering how different it sounds. But since this is a short, I guess I can forgive that one little detail.
I can't play Portal and Portal 2 anymore since I already watched Hank Green do it, so I pretty much know all the solutions by now.

This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...Oddly, I never got stuck on Portal/Portal2. They're pretty hand-holdey games as far as puzzles go.
I did get stuck quite a few times on Braid. Design wise, it reminds me a lot of my approach to designing puzzles in Pickory.
I had that same problem. I played through Portal pretty easily when I first got it, but after switching to a new computer, there's one jump in chamber 17 that I just can't make no matter how hard I try. It's ridiculous.
Also, you shouldn't be concerned by how long it takes you to beat a game. I usually take much longer than many people to beat a game, but that's not a problem. It's all about what experience you have.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayThey should have had her smack her head on the door on the way out. :P
Oh good. I'm not the only one who thought that.
I put my friend in a coconut! He lives in my hat! Hey, come hang out!

It's a waste when the short story it's based on was only 30 pages.
Also, new Rainbow Rocks short.
Rarity on the synth is great.
