A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

It's DC... They've more then proven they hate their customers and hold them in utter contempt. They have flat out admitted the the most stereotypical adolescent male is the only audience they care about writing for. And feel that they are worthless losers that will buy anything with a certain characters name on it.
@Princess: Why do we like them? This is very silly.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectSo, with a lot of expanding the size, and a little squinting, I was able to make out the Mane Six designs, more or less with a black background and my room light turned off.
Not quite what I was expecting, they're really thin. And Shy's kinda washed out looking, though guess that makes sense to look unassuming.
@ed: DC or the ponies? I don't much care for DC right now. Or very many comics, actually.
But ponies are indeed cute, and their villains deliciously evil.
Fluttershy is pretty pastel-based in her color scheme, yeah. I remember once, rather early during FIM, some parent online remarked on how skinny the new ponies were, and how Princess Celestia was "ready to dance around a stripper pole".
... I couldn't make this up if I tried.

"I feel like I'm on a raft and surrounding me is an ocean of dumb."- Mr. SarkPonies, obviously.
@dark: Yeah, they are a bit taller and slimmer-looking, with a more obvious anime influence in the eyes.

The animation itself is really smooth, but I suppose a still image can't get across how expressive they are.
There goes my memory
Darn. Shame I had to find the shortened version. Do you know what was cut?
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayIt's DC... They've more then proven they hate their customers and hold them in utter contempt.
I'm glad I quit collecting Marvel comics years before the whole "One More Day" fiasco.
I put my friend in a coconut! He lives in my hat! Hey, come hang out!Speaking of shilling characters noone's ever heard of, apparently they're making a movie about a talking racoon.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayNot a whole lot thankfully, a song and about 2 minutes of animation.
And guess what version you get on the dvd? And most of G1's out of print on scattered dvds. And Tales wasn't even released in America, you have to import 4 dvds from the land down under, same with any hope of the toys.
In general I'm saddened by how hard it is to find them. It's either pirating various dvd and tape rips, or nothing.

Rocket Raccoon? I remember him appearing in a Hulk comic back in the '80s. I thought he was just a rather silly one-shot character at the time.

It is colourful, and there's a lot to take in, but it's usually coherent.

Guardians of the Galaxy is the movie in question. Look up the trailer, it's rather ripping.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectOh, DC. I do so like(Some) of your characters, and you have some really solid writers... I wish I could respect your morals more.
Oh well. I have Marvel for fun, respectable comics. Even if they are harder to get into.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.Well, in theory? I haven't read that many. I got into DC when they did the reboot, but Marvel has a lot of history... like, I just picked up a new series of Spider Man, and apparently Doc Oc was Spiderman for a while. I basically just have to be willing to shrug and accept some stuff in order to get any distance into a Marvel Comic.

Eeyup. But Hasbro had no confidence for it's cartoons anymore after Transformers was bombing after the movie, so it was probably cut down for budget reasons, or they just didn't care.
Either way, each ep was 9 minutes including a one minute song. So it was either make some 2 and 4 parters to make an adventure, or use solos as slice of life. Plus the writers had to cram in a ton of ponies for forced advertizing...
Tales at least had a more consistant cast to develope, but all their eps were solos.
SO yeah, FIM has got it made by comparison.
