A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

I always figured Discord's Chaos was initially centred and focused entirely on Ponyville at the time, and no-one outside the place except the princesses and maybe a few immortals really believed how much Chaos Discord could spread around.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!Magic inhibitors are now canon.
Spike probably insulted so many Cloudsdalians with his butchering of that song.
"We can't turn back time, Spike..." Yeah, you can. I'll agree it's not a terribly good idea, though.
I feel like Ponyville winning so many medals sort of goes against the small-town feel it generally has. Unless Ponyville's suddenly become one of Equestria's major population centers, it seems a bit of a stretch to believe they would win more medals than Cloudsdale, which always seemed like a larger city to me.
Can't be after the start of Season 4, as EQG revolves around retrieving the Big Crown Thingy, which was sealed up at the start of Season 4. And the Games can't be before 4_1, as Flight To The Finish was a Key episode.
So I'm thinking she forgot, or poorly phrased it.

I have a message from another time...That was a good episode, one with an interesting lesson about self-esteem, and how there can be a disconnect when someone does something that is very helpful or amazing but they see it as natural to them so they don't see it as being as special as others might. It's also nice to see Spike being well-loved in the Crystal Empire, and was also good to see what the Equestria Games are like. I had wondered how the games would handle unicorn magic and we got an answer—no magic allowed because of an anti-magic barrier.
I liked that Rainbow Dash was a surprisingly good sport about getting only second place, probably because she knew her opponents were the Wonderbolts, who she admires anyway and so it probably doesn't bother her as much to see them win. I also noticed that Pinkie imitated Rainbow Dash's "Oh my gosh oh my gosh oh my gosh!" that she did in the Sonic Rainboom story which is where the Wonderbolts first made their in-person appearance.

Again, being saved from a crazy dude who ruled for like one day (or a bunch depending on how you count days when the sun is zipping around like that) is a big deal, but probably isn't going to carry the same weight as being saved from a tyrant who's ruled you for years. I'm not even sure how widespread Discord's rule was, or how well ponies even remember it.
