A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

Kids need morals, so what you gonna do? I feel like they'll eventually wean themselves off the format.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectJust tell a story and use dialogue and visuals to get across a message without devoting a whole section to it.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectYeah, I just think they need to be more subtle about it. Like, only say "my friends are more important than this book" once instead of like three times.
Reaction Image RepositoryI don't mind the idea at all. It fits with the whole "key" concept in that they're now the teachers instead of the students. I just wish the journal was incorporated into the show more smoothly.
Reaction Image Repository@J Teeth: I don't think there is really a "smooth" way you can incorporate the lesson section in to the show at this point.
@Dark: That particular bit wasn't a problem, it just felt a bit redundant.
Reaction Image RepositoryThe other problem with explicitly stating morals is that it becomes more obvious when you do a repeat.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayPony is about as subtle as a mallet to the face and it kinda always has been. Not just with its morals, but with everything it does. I mean that affectionately, of course. It sort of has to be, given its target audience.
Also, welcome back, JT.
Yeah, it's good to be back. Though I'm probably going to be leaving for the weekend again.
Carpooling with some people to go visit a friend for his birthday.
And now I should go to bed, because I woke up at four in the morning to catch my plane.

@Seraphem Yeah we were just so used to hearing that I guess.
