A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

@Mars Oh. All right. You watch anything else from That Guy With The Glasses?
https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615q@Marcen Yeah it's kinda like a good show you watch, it starts out great then after awhile you want it to end, case in point The Simpsons think of the Nostalgia Critic as the first 8 seasons of the show and then go downhill basically.

"Transform and Roll out!" Optimus PrimeI was lucky today at Toys R Us. I was looking for MLP toys to give to a friend for her birthday, and I also went to get a blind bag toy for myself. What was funny was right on top was a bag that someone else had already opened in the store, and inside was a Big Macintosh figurine! Since I really like him and I didn't have a figure of him yet, I got it. I guess someone else checked by opening the bag, didn't want him but by leaving it open, they left a sneak peek for other people coming after them.
I wouldn't necessarily recommend doing that, since that would probably get whoever would do that in trouble with the store, but it was funny that someone else's misbehavior ended up benefitting me.
It helps if you compare Rogue to tier 3 classes like Factotum or Beguiler which are noticeably better. Factotum is the ultimate skill monkey, while Beguiler is basically a rogue that traded sneak attack for illusion and enchantment magic.
Being a skillmonkey generally isn't that great anyway. The most useful skill is UMD and that's only because it gives you access to magic.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play@Star I haven't watched The Simpsons in a few months because of Rooster Teeth and TGWTG.
https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615qAlso, note that Rogues in 3.5 suffer from the fact that a large number of enemies are immune to sneak attack. One of the few things PF changed was making it harder to get SA immunity.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayHave you tried Tome of Battle? It's widely considered one of the best balanced books in 3.5, mainly because it 'fixed' the melee classes. Warblade is what Fighter should have been, Crusader is what Paladin should have been, Unarmed Swordsage is what Monk should have been and so on. Not coincidently, it was the last 3.5 book published, after WOTC finalyl got a hang of the balance. Sadly, this also means that not many people use it. Everyone uses Core, even though its the most unbalanced part of the game.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayThat's effectively what Tome of Battle did.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play@Mars Oh yes. The Cinema Snob! And Film Brain. Cool.
https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615qI think one illustration of the power differences is one time when I was playing and we came across an NPC who complanined about being opressed by the local kingdom. I offered to relocate him in a different country. The DM asked me if I was actually planning to do it, and I was like 'yeah I'll teleport him across the continent and build him a house tomorrow once we're done with the current adventure'. And I was completely serious. Not many classes can say that.
Take something like Barbarian. If you try hard enough, you could make a Barbarian powerful enough to kill everyone on the battlefield in one round. But that's still the only thing it can do. Spellcasters can do anything.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play@Dark While your waiting for that to happen. How about I discuss on my thoughts Mario Sunshine with you in P Ms?
"Transform and Roll out!" Optimus PrimeI found the Nostalgia Critic when looking for that old 80's Cartoon All-star Anti-drug thing. Only other videos I watch are Anime Abandon, Phelous' Mortal Kombat videos and anything by Linkara.
Just the other week when the Critic did his Disney Afternoon he said how awesome it was to have Tony Jay and Tim Curry onscreen together. Someone should introduce him to Mighty Max, an awesome early 90's series that had Tony Jay as the main character's mentor figure/fowl and Tim Curry as a terribly badass villain.

That was a very nice, low key character episode. Lots of nice interactions.
That said, I think I would have liked the episode a bit more if the rest of the mane six were excluded and it was just Twilight and Rainbow for twenty minutes. Still, then we wouldn't have Pinkie's Oh Sweet God Fuck The Nineties rap.
I could barely even make out the rap. Guess I'll have to rewatch it later.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play

I kinda think Rogues should be higher up, personally. A rogue may have a pretty specific roll in combat, but the sheer amount of skill points they get(in pathfinder at least) means that they can be good at virtually everything outside of combat.
I get 10 skillpoints per level. That's almost more than I know how to use. Shame the GM doesn't really seem to know how to make situations that don't eventually lead to combat. Or that my charisma is too low to make diplomacy not risky even with the amount of skill points I've dumped into it.
