A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

I think this is the first time she's teleported an object (at least not without coming along)
She also had good reactions to catch that spitwad.
I like how Twilight was out of breath at one point.

Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayI'm not sure what newegg is.
Edit- okay, I'm taking a look and I'm on the first page of the laptops and notebooks section. What do you need help figuring out?

http://h0useb0und.tumblr.com/It's not like the name is prohibited. Even if Firefly the character is copyrighted, that just means you can't make a copy of her, but the name isn't a substantial part of the character.
This too. Note that the unimportant characters get more generic names since they arne't going to be trademarked
I thought it was obvious she was going to pass simply due to the genre and show style.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayWell, I know what I need it for, text, internet browsing, image editing, livestreaming, and light gaming. It also needes to be portable. I've heard that chromebooks are good for the price, but I don't know if they're compatible with stuff that I'd want to install. I know that image editing requires a pretty good machine, but not what parts it's hard on.
Edit: For example, I'm in the "find your notebook section, and it's asking what kind of processor I need, i7, i5, i3.

@CDRW: Yeah, text and internet browsing usually aren't much of an issue. I don't do much gaming or image editing on my comp though, so I don't know about that. Mainly it's just a question of how much processing power it has.
Reaction Image RepositoryIt's not a callback. The fact that the trio is all three species didn't just start being a thing that was true or anything.
You don't install anything on a Chromebook (Except chrome extensions I guess). It's effectively just a web browser.
Anyway, it sounds like image editing and livestreaming are going to be the demanding parts. Pretty much anything can do standard browsing and text editing.
I'm not an expert, but I don't think processor will be that important. I'd recommend trying to search online for guides to eg livestreaming to see if they have specific mentions of performance bottlenecks.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayPersonally, I'd try to get a lot of memory, but that's because I keep running out of memory on my current laptop (only 4gb!). But it depends on your workload. Do you find yourself running out of memory a lot?
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayI'm actually wondering if someone is going to splice the 'Apparate' song over the footage of the rap and a few other clips of Pinkie XD
CDRW- first off, I'd avoid Chromebooks if I were you. Yes they're very cheap, but they're VERY basic laptops as I understand it, and the memory is almost entirely cloud storage rather than local storage.
If you need something that's good for gaming, it kinda depends on the game in question. Most games have spec requirements listed on the box or the website if it's a computer game. I'd say you should try to get a decent graphics card and at least 4 GB of RAM (
"memory" mentioned above).
As for the processor, I'd say go for i5 or i7. I'm assuming bigger numbers are better.
One last thing- if you're really not sure, or availability is an issue, go to a local Best Buy or Staples/Office Depot. They have computer specialists there who should be able to help you find what you're looking for.

Thanks. Glad to know that about chromebooks, and the memory amounts is useful to know too.
They have their uses, but they're no subsitute for a real laptop.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayAs I understand it, it's pretty good if your kid wants to get My First Computer but they're only 10 and you can't trust them with anything too expensive. They're supposed to be good for older people who don't really do much except browse the internet and use email, but the whole cloud storage thing makes me question that.
http://h0useb0und.tumblr.com/CRDW- that laptop looks pretty good. The i5 core is fine (whether high or low numbers are good, it's in the middle so it can't be the "bad" option), the RAM looks good, 500 GB hard drive space is average and should be plenty, the screen resolution looks good too. Just be sure the size is alright with you, it's marked at 17 inches.
http://h0useb0und.tumblr.com/The other big advantage is securty. I do all my banking and credit card stuff on my chromebook. Admittedly, there's enough senstive stuff on my personal laptop that I'd be screwed if I got hacked anyway, but it can't hurt.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayHow does the chrome book help with security? And why would you have a laptop AND a chromebook?
Personally I have my laptop and that's it. I don't have or want a desktop computer or a tablet, much less a spare laptop.

Google? Seriously, I just went on a couple of websites and picked one that fit my price range. Unless you want it for something specialized it shouldn't be too tough to look something up.
