A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.

I guess it kinda makes sense, if Dash is really used to splitting her attention, that she'd have a really hard time focusing on a single thing.
I really liked this episode. I kinda think the second half suffered for bringing in the rest of the cast, especially since their roles were much smaller... I would liked to see it stick to just Twilight and Dash, but it was still pretty good.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes. But the most important thing: Helicopters are canon.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectSo, they tricked Dash into learning, and she didn't even know she was learning anything?
O-kaaaaay...
I put my friend in a coconut! He lives in my hat! Hey, come hang out!Yeah, I thought it was really good as well. We got more adorkable Twilight, and RD got some serious development as well. Bringing in the other cast members did split the time a bit, but I don't think it was too bad.
Believe it or not, that can actually happen. And I think it's entirely plausible given the circumstances as well. They probably had her do a few more flybys to make sure that she didn't forget anything, but the overall idea makes sense.

Reaction Image RepositorySo, RD's brain only works at full speed while flying, because she devotes so much runtime to it to keep trac of everything. So when she isn't flying, it's why she's... WAIT!
Okay so she is used to noticing all these details while flying, even without knowing them. Just taking in everything. But she only does this while flying.....
That's why she loves flying so much, and is always so impatient when she isn't. She's so used to all that extra sensory data, at processing so much information while flying, then when she isn't everything just seems so slow. She misses the extra stimulation.
Very good episode! I kinda like how they let RD learn her own way in the end. But I would HATE to have Twi as my teacher.

@Seraphem: That makes a lot of sense. It also explains why she lazes around so much when she's not flying: when she is flying her brain is on overdrive, so when she's just sitting around she uses the time process the information and let her mind rest as well.
I can vouch for the "learning while multitasking" thing. I've actually found that when I'm trying to think something through I can do it much more effectively if I'm up and moving around rather than just sitting there. Like in college whenever I got hit with writers block on a paper or something I would get up and take a walk, because I could think things through better if I was out and about rather than sitting at my desk.

Reaction Image RepositoryYou know, seeing RD go from cocky jock shithead, to angry jock shithead, to self-defeating jock shithead didn't make me want to see her succeed. In fact I wanted to see her fail after all that uselessness.
I guess the old stereotype of her is true. She is practically in capable of anything that doesn't involve flying.
It DID have a good lesson about studying though. Often, the best way to learn something is to just go about it in a natural way you soak information in, and try to hone that to your control. I was TERRIBLE at History, until my teacher knew I was best at art, and he told me to pair terms with flashcards that I drew pictures onto, and I studied them over and over again until I could recite them all! So I got a 91 on my next test! :D
