A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

I think that sums it up, really. My issue isn't with FS himself, per se, so much as the fact that it feels like the writers sort of half-assed his involvement. He needs to either be given a large enough role in the plot to justify introducing an entirely new character, or else removed to make room for other more important plot elements. As is, he's there, but he doesn't contribute nearly as much as you'd expect him to, given the role he fills.
I haven't been keeping up with the Rainbow Rocks stuff, but the new Vinyl Scratch video is kind of awesome.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectFrom a purely pragmatic standpoint, I would argue that clamoring for Flash to be removed from the plot would be a wasted effort, since his presence was already established (and retcons are often a terrible idea). The only recourse, then, is to pull him back into the spotlight, and hope the writers know what they're doing this time.
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...I was talking about in the original movie, not in the sequel. Trying to retcon him out would be pointless. In the sequel, I hope the give the guy some much needed development, because he really does have some potentially interesting backstory.
And now it's time for me to go to bed.

Reaction Image RepositorySeriously, if they can have as much fun with the characters as they do here, it should be a good time.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectIf they do put him more in the spotlight in the second movie, I hope they phase out the romance angle. And I'm not just saying that because I don't like the ship, it's because the two worlds thing makes it really weird. There's really only two ways they could go with that, either Twilight has to be heartbroken from leaving him at the end, or they go full on ReplacementLoveInterest with pony Flash, which is a terrible trope and I hate it when it shows up. Unless they use Alt-Twi for the movie, then I wouldn't mind as much.
What did your joke have to do with anything?
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayThis one.
And, to be fair, I was being a douche here. Sorry Sereg {In case he ends up reading this too}.

Whatever a 5 year old girl would do, that's what a pony does
I dunno, there's just something oddly sinister and out of place about that line

Well now, I had no idea my little April Fools joke would actually cause a several page discussion one day after I did it. All I will say is that JT and Crowfall are better at explaining what I find great about Twidash then I could ever hope to, and that everyone was more or less accurate in what the overall issue with FS was. *Slowly walks out of thread*
Here's probably the most adorable episode ending in the series.
